Once again, people NOTHING is going to change this year. We suck and this is a down year.

that's the most frustrating part. Why the f*** won't they make a single ******* move. I mean either get rid of a lot of scrubs for picks, or go for someone who can be valueable. Don't just sit mediocrity.

Also as mentioned earlier "a shot chris osgood wishes he had back"

You're way off. Things started going downhill when Lilja was injured. He should be the captain.

We made the Finals last year without Lilja. While I do agree that he should probably be captain, I always hear about how the Wings have all these leaders that pull the team through tough times. Instead, these leaders are themselves sucking right now. Guys like Lidstrom and Datsyuk aren't doing s*** offensively.

Very frustrating. Don't know why on Earth Holland hasn't made any type of move or signing besides Miller. Montreal immediately went out and signed a free agent d-man once Markov went down. Why don't we follow suit?

So pardon my ignorance on the topic, as I've only been a Wings fan since '94 or so when I caught my first NHL game on tv and they happened to be playing, but did the "Dead Things" of the 80's look worse than this? I'm not sure how that could be possible. 7 shots on goal in a period... all of them about as dangerous as a marshmallow, lack of defensive coverage, poor goaltending, no checking worth speaking of, no forecheck, no backcheck. Did the "Dead Things" lose every game 12-0 or what?

Anyway... this season is pretty much circling the bowl. These days I barely get excited on game day. It's really somewhat depressing.

C'mon boys! PLEASE TURN IT ON!!!

Speaking of which, you know who I miss? Danny Markov.....we could use him right now.

Everyone always talks about the leadership on the Wings, but I haven't seen these leaders step up this season. Maybe we should give Franzen the captaincy when he comes back, because apparently we're nothing without him.

I don't know what team you have been watching. Zetterberg has been AMAZING for the last 15 games or more. I don't know what more he needs to do before you think he has stepped up. Sure I'd like Lids to step up more, but he's 39 and a defenseman. He's not the kind of guy that goes end to end and drives the net.

Also, we've played some really good games, and even stretches of games, since Franzen got injured. The injury to Kronner seems to have been the last straw though, that was a huge loss.. In the future I see Hank with the C, Pavel and Kronner with A's.

Neither do I. That's what kills me.

Babs was absolutely pissed after the Oil game. These are the kind of games where you can expect the Wings to come out on fire. Last year when we were on our 6 game losing streak Babs was asked a question about the upcoming game. He said something along the lines of "We are winning that game". Sure enough, the Wings went out and kicked ass. Lets hope he did something after that wonderful display of crap we say the other night.

Not looking good so far <_<

While I do like the "Hockeytown, No Limits" commercial, I'm starting to believe that this team thinks it means there's no limits to how far they will let the quality of their playing sink this year. Anytime the other team scores first, unfortunately, I automatically chalk up the win to the opposition. That first goal against is always the pin that pops our balloon.

Hell they could just give Lebda or Meech away and that is an improvement

Again to bring draft picks maybe.. doesnt help this team right now.. I agree with you tho

Those 2 are the first on my list......at least this is Lebda's last year on his current deal...

After I started watching in '79 or so, between 1980 and 1983 the Wings never finished above 60 pts for the season. Finishing at least 6th (I think) in our division, the Norris, over those years.

This is no where near as bad as that.

I think we'll be OK when we get some of our injured players back, especially Franzen and Flip.

I didn't watch too many of those games (we didn't have cable up here in Parts Unknown then), but I think a big difference back then was that, along with seeing the Wings lose miserably, you would have the added bonus of watching some opposing player get his a$$ kicked by some Wings goon. Didn't change things in the grand scheme, but it did make things a little more entertaining.
