superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Some fans, such as this idiot, should be traded. Trade Draper. How ignorant are you? Drapes has been much better this season than he was last season. Helm, Eaves and Draper have played very well together. Oh, yeah, the dude is also a veteran leader on the team and one of the longest serving Wings. He nor Maltby will ever be traded or waived.

henrik40 76 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Let's just trade our whole team for the Penguins whole team. Sounds like a win win. And we end up with the best player ever.

hooon 1,089 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 I think we should trade Franzen. Seriously... this guy been pretty invisible out there this year. Ever since he got hurt against the Hawks its like he never scores goals. Anyone else agree with this? We are nearly halfway through the season and he's tied with Doug Janik in points. While his production has dropped this year, I still think Franzen has trade value.
Theophany 110 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Some fans, such as this idiot, should be traded. Awesome idea. Maybe we can send him to Chicago or Pittsburgh? I think we should trade Franzen. Yeah, why are we not making threads about Franzen?! I haven't even noticed the guy once since that Chicago game, and that was the third game of the season! Guest zackmorris Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Draper is still valuable. We have no faith in a front office that's made us the best team in sports. C'mon guys, every day there's a new "cut/trade _____". Draper is still a good faceoff man in big games, is great on a line with Helm/Eaves, and is a good guy to have in the locker room. How quickly we'll s*** on a guy who helped us become what we are. Think about it-for all the home town discounts players gladly take, part of our side of the deal is being loyal. The Illitch family, Kenny, our front office in general heavily promotes a family-like environment where we're loyal to those who are loyal to us. We won't leave you hanging. It's now our turn to be loyal to Draper for sticking with us and playing for almost nothing. It seems like it's killing us now but players look deeply at stuff like this and it heavily weighs in on their decisions on where to sign. We provide security and loyalty and it's a long term benefit that's worth the minimal short term negatives.
elriqo28 2 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Time to cut our losses with drapes and send him on the retirement tour. If we are lucky maybe we could get some trade value for him, possibly a draft pick! Maltby too, he's just as bad. For all those that say he's the best penalty killer on the team: look at our record on the PK. GET RID OF HIM FINALLY you're dumb and should be banned. Gnredwing 10 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 The Enforcer you obviously are not to bright. Draper and Maltby know exactly their role and what to do on the ice. Lets just get rid of them bring 2 new players who will take a while to get adjusted to their roles only a couple of months before the playoffs start. Malts and Drapes only have won 4 cups and came a game away from a 5th, seems it would be a great idea to just get rid of them....... A Hole!!

The Red Wings were pretty much a best-bet in the NHL from 1994 to now, even when they didn't win the Stanley Cup. Draper missed his fifth ring last year. Maltby would not risk being a healthy scratch on a lot of younger teams. Detroit is still a contender this year and fighting hard, but it's no Team Canada. It probably comes down to how involved they want to be with the office and press duties and how much they want to stay on the ice for a few more years. And how much they believe we have a shot this year. I'm guessing it is their decision, if there is any decision to be made. Now watch, someone is gonna say we should trade Lidstrom Edited February 3, 2010 by KonstantAdvisor

Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 3, 2010 They are... what do you call it... uhm.. redundant, to this team... any player can take their spot and do it equally good and probably better. Umm, they, uhh, yeah, um are doing well this year, and, uhh... yeah, the loyalty you guys are disparaging is a key part of the Wings` system. Quit being idiots and incompetent armchair GMs. Also, note that this is not NHL 10. You cannot just go in and tweak the roster. Simpletons.
Guest zackmorris Report post Posted February 3, 2010 ^If only some people could truly see what the Wings would look like without the loyalty we're known for. Players come here, and not only come here, they take pay cuts to play here partly because of the treatment our front office will give them later when their production dips. clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Draper and Maltby have both been having good years for their age. Especially Draper playing with Helm and Eaves. I'm having a good year for my age, but I freely admit I should be waived.

Why do you keep suggesting this when this is not going to happen? What do you have specifically against Draper, and Draper alone, compared to other people? DMAC 25 18 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 how about lets trade him and get our dollar back...not really let him finish out the year. hes a great leader and i guess you dont remember when he had that talk with the team in the locker room that day
bdavis 28 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Draper is a big part of this team. He is a leader, and has been playing quite well this season. Drapes has tons of speed, and adds energy to the DHE line. I don't understand why the hell you would want to trade him. What, do you expect him to score 20 or more goals in a season? dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 I'm sure someone has mentioned this (don't have the strenght to read through threads like these) but have you forgotten about earlier in the season when he supposedly got up in the lockerroom and gave everyone a verbal spanking? Which proceeded to make the team play a lot better. Plus he's been playing on one of our most effective lines this season. I'm sure you could find someone else to play with Eaves and Helm and still have a good line but I don't think Draper has been bad this season. I'm much more anxious to get rid of Maltby to be honest.
