Brandon Dubinsky calling Sidney Crosby a little baby

Dubinsky with the ultra burn. Love it.

Sid is a whining, tantrum throwing little *****. I'm sure alot of people will equate this to "just hating" because he's the face of the league or whatever but he is what he is and no amount of denial will change that.

He's done this his whole career to this point. His sense of entitlement is so bloated that he'll throw a fit fitting of a spoiled 12 year old when he doesn't get his way. I can only imagine his attitude if the league didn't steal a Cup from us and hand it to him.

What a role model eh? ****** bag.

I'm gonna pick this apart piece by piece....you are exactly right saying "he is what he is", he is a 22 year old who has won an MVP, Pearson, and Art Ross trophies along with being the youngest captain ever to win the Stanley Cup.

Second of all, the league didn't "steal" a Cup from us..say what you want about the officiating and the changing of the start of the series, injuries, the lights being too bright in Pittsburgh's arena, the pucks not being black enough, and all of those other excuses that makes you feel better, the bottom line is we had game 7 on our home ice, win one game and we have the Cup...we didn't get it done period, end of story. Besides any team that goes on the road to win 2 game 7s against their 2 toughest opponents during the Stanley Cup Playoffs has proved their worth as a champion.

Finally, i don't see where you get off mocking Crosby as a role model.. was Crosby the hockey player who while drunk punched a cab driver in the face over 20 cents? (Kane) was it Crosby who was linked last year with drug-trafficking and the mob? (Hamrlik and the Kostitsyns) Was it Crosby who tried to hire a hit man to kill a friend of his? (Mike Danton) was it Crosby who plead guilty to running an illegal sports gambling ring? (Rick Tocchet) Was it Crosby who let drugs and alcohol run his life into ground including bankruptcy? ( McCarty) Was it Crosby who sucker punched a player seriously injuring him and ruining his hockey career? ( Bertuzzi) Has Crosby been arrested for drinking and driving? ( Federov and Chelios, among others)...no it wasn't. You say he's a complainer and that may be true but keep in mind he's only 22...how many people are fully mature at that age?? You can dislike him all you want because you don't like the way he plays hockey but implying he isn't a good role model makes you look foolish especially considering some of the riff-raff that goes on with other NHL players. Call me crazy but if i had a child whose role model was a guy whose most controversial action was a missed handshake after a hockey game, I think i could live with that.

lol at him poking dubinsky with the stick then skating away

i remember doing stuff like that... when i was 8. i grew out of it when i hit 10 haha

edit: geeze stevieysguy... i'm gettin you a picture of crosby n some lotion for christmas

he's not as extreme as those guys you mentioned (which i'm sure the op wasn't thinking about anyways when he was talking about role models... lol), but he's a diving whining lil girl... n the first part of my title to him is the number one reason i don't like that he's the "face of hockey"

if you're gonna act like a little diving ***** go play soccer

Truth? Do you know how petty a little stick after a face off is?

There are much worse things going on in the game, having the best player in the league show a little emotion is far from a travesty.

i'm by no means comparing this crosby guy to the likes of gretzky or lemieux. i wonder, though, if they were as spoiled and act as consistently childish in their day as crosby? they were both super hyped (though i suppose in a different world without the internet) and expected to do great things. i'm 34, so i've seen a fair share of gretzky/lemieux games, but i don't remember anything at the level of crosby's sense of entitlement and self-righteousness (especially right out of the gate during his rookie year). any thoughts from the older posters?

Lemieux always seemed to be very much a "Waaah! I'm taking my puck and going home!" kind of guy when I watched him.

I've told this story enough times, but it bears another telling... There was one game I watched (pre-Crosby, IIRC) where the Pens were getting absolutely destroyed. Score was 7-1 or something like that in the 2nd period. Lemieux takes a face-off...then skates off the ice and leaves down the runway toward the dressing room. Didn't explain to anyone why he left. Broadcasters were confused. Coaches and teammates had no idea why he had left. Broadcasters watched replays of the faceoff, thinking he may have gotten swatted or something, but there was nothing. Then they theorized an equipment problem. But they asked downstairs and nope, no equipment problem either. Lemieux just didn't come back to finish the game. And he was fine next game, no injuries or anything. He just didn't want to play anymore in a blowout and basically threw a silent hissy fit by leaving the game and letting his teammates suffer the embarrassing loss.

It's situations like that which leave me no doubt as to why Crosby is the whiner he is today - he was taught by one of the best.

k, i'm guessing you weren't referring to my post (about dives n whatever) so whatever

Uh yeah, exactly, petty is a good word for it. Poking someone after a faceoff is not in the group of actions I would put in the "playing with emotion" category.

Just curious, do you hold Ovechkin's dirty and dangerous plays against him the same way you hold Crosby's maybe unsportsmanlike plays against him?

The bias against Crosby compared to Ovechkin dumbfounds me. I've yet to be explained how Ovechkin can almost end someones career and still be loved, but Crosby slashes someone on the face off and it turns into a 10 page bitching contest about how Crosby sucks.

It's unbelievable.

Yea it's ridiculous...and as i have said so many times before i have a hard time seeing Wings fans being so complimentary of Ovie if he was the one we faced in the Finals two years in a row.

I'm not disagreeing just because of the thread. It's pretty safe to say I've been a Crosby fan for a long time...

Guest Howard He Do It?!

Looks like I'm going to have to start liking the Rangers now. Well, at least Dubinsky.

I'm not going to jump on the Crosby hatewagon in this thread, but I applaud Dubinsky for calling it like he see's it, right or wrong. It's very refreshing to hear a player speak his mind rather than spouting the usual vanilla cliche cone. Oh, for the days of Hull, Shanny and JR interviews.

OH DUBI, YOUR MY HERO!!!

Not. Grow up, be a pro. No one cares because its been said a billion times. He was looking for some air time and he got it. This s*** is going to be replayed all weekend. Its not like no one has called Crosby a baby before. Besides, like that s*** doesn't happen dozens of times in one game - and we never hear about it. As annoying as it is hearing about Crosby, its just as annoying hearing Dubinsky turn into some kind of martyr cause he 'called him out' on a routine play. I guess thats why he plays on broadway.

incoming 3 game suspension for hurting sidney crosby's feelings.

HAHA! Thats about right on...we'll see what whining Crosby does to get Buttman's attention for this suspension to happen.

I hate them both with a passion, Ovie is a dirty player, and Cindy is just a crybaby that should never have been the "face of the NHL"

And whomever said that they weren't handed the cup was dead wrong. You see that picture of Bettman when the Wings were stomping the Penguins, he was pissed beyond belief, then all of a sudden the rest of the games went to the Pens? No Malkin suspension? Etc, etc.

+1 to Dubinsky

You missed that part in your "picking apart" of my reply. You're welcome.

I dunno what it is about fans like you, but you and I, we're not professionals. It's not our job to be modest and full of s*** and classy.

The league changes the rules to help Pittsburgh. They could interfere and hook and hold all game and we got called for anything. If you didn't see it then I'm sorry but you don't know hockey. Bettman being upset when we won? "Tightening" the rules to favor Pittsburgh? No suspension to Malkin? Gill and Orpik interfering for 7 straight games? Wake the f*** up.

Finally, i don't see where you get off mocking Crosby as a role model.. was Crosby the hockey player who while drunk punched a cab driver in the face over 20 cents? (Kane) was it Crosby who was linked last year with drug-trafficking and the mob? (Hamrlik and the Kostitsyns)

No, it wasn't.

You want to explain to us how someone elses s***ty actions somehow negate Crosby's s***ty attitude?

This isn't a topic about any other player and their behavior doesn't give Sid an automatic pass just because he didn't do anything as bad as they did. He's still a s***ty role model. Maybe the next time I spear a guy because I'm throwing a temper tantrum, I'll just turn around and say "well at least I didn't put a hit out on someone" and I'll get off the hook.

And I don't give a f*** if he's 22. At 22 plenty of young men have grown up far more than Sid has. That's also not a valid excuse.

I wouldn't want my kid looking up to a guy who whines to any stripe who will listen when the simplest of things doesn't go his way. I stopped doing that when I was around 10 years old and my children will too. I don't want them looking up to a man who spears other players because he's pissed off, takes cheap shots at others or throws fits or ditches handshakes because he's a f***in coward. I'm a Red Wing fan partially because we don't have players like that. We have role models. Kids are sponges-do you want to be the father of the boy who sticks players in the crotch when he's upset and acts like a poor winner? I don't. Then again some of us grow up a little faster and aren't coddled little pieces of s***. I don't my kid to turn into a diver, a whiner,

BTW, next time you want to "pick my reply apart" try doing it with logic.

Crosby hate is hilarious. Stay jealous guys, stay jealous.

You're living in denial. But then again you're the local yokel who keeps digging his hole even deeper. It's not just the one stick, or any one specific thing, it's the collection of actions since day one.

And STFU about Ovie. This isn't an Ovie thread. That's a good debate waiting to happen, just so long as you can't stick your face into it.

Scott's right. You just want to be different. The more people that rag on Crosby, the more people who will pop out of nowhere and go against the grain just to be different.
