Definitely a hit with his shoulder I think. The problem was it looked like he had his head lined up the whole time. How hits to the head like this haven't been made illegal ceases to amaze me.

What are you smoking? 100% elbow on that one after an approach from behind, very classy.

I'd have to disagree. It looked like shoulder to me, but clearly the intent was to hit his head. Thats the problem I have with it.

Yeah, that was defiantly an elbow and would be called that in any league... nothing about that was clean. And hopefully he does get suspend, but he probably won't.

Just because a hit is legal does not mean it is clean. Elbow or not, he was going for the head. Just because a player doesn't leave his feet, or lead with an elbow never means it is not dirty.
Oh yeah, total elbow. Turn the quality up, full screen it, watch all the angles. I cant tell if his elbow was out on the initial hit, but there is no question it was on the follow through.

That was a dirty hit, looked low with the elbow. Not to mention it was a completely unneeded hit what purpose did that serve in the 1st place?

Just because there isn't a rule about hitting to the head doesn't mean that HEADHUNTING is legal.

Shoulder to head. Worth at least 3 games IMO. Seeing as it's s***tsburgh it'll be business as usual in the NHL though.

No elbow, got the head a bit but Savard was leaning forward. Not as bad as everyone here is making it seem but he'll probably get a couple games for it.

Cooke is a POS. Hes always going out of his way to make knee on knee or head shots on players.
