wings1110 184 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 If Franzen was healthy the whole season would he have scored 50 goals? I calculated how many goals he would be on pace for if he had been healthy all season. At this point he would be on pace for 44 goals and thats with him just comming off missing 3/4 of the season
Guest mindfly Report post Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) Even if he was not injured wings still had tons of other injuries and in november/december/january etc when they had ritola, newbury, janik etc up it wasnt very pretty...would not have been easy to play Edited March 14, 2010 by mindfly

But who knows, it slowed down our other guys.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 I don't think he would have reached 50, but I firmly believe he'd be in the top ten goal-scorers in the league. At least 40 on the season.
egroen 384 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 I think 40 goals from Franzen would be reasonable with a healthy season.
KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 I think Franzen is a 35 goal scorer 40 at most. His more of the clutch type goal scorer, saying that I'm glad his locked up for the rest of his carreer.
greene709 27 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 He's a beast...I am more impressed with him every game. I had forgotten hot potent he can be..

egroen 384 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) He only scored 34 last year with a pretty deadly lineup offensivly... Missing 11 games - on pace for 39. Then there's the 25 goals in 39 playoff games - which is just unbelievable. Certainly happy he is back in the lineup, he is having a huge impact on every game and it's nice to see someone other than Bertuzzi out there throwing some mass around. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 If Frazen played 82 games I can see him hitting 40 to 45 goals. 1 RedKellyFan reacted to this
Cheveldae32 32 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 I don't think he would have scored 50, not that he's not capable but because when we are healthy we roll 4 lines more than any other team. I think thats why we never see a 50 goal scorer and i'll take the depth over one superstar any day.
wingsownnhl43 14 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 I think 40 goals from Franzen would be reasonable with a healthy season. Agreed. And Mick says this seemingly every broadcast.
brett 1,029 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 i think hes capable of 50 if he plays 82 games and wings are healthy
cjm502 165 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 Quite often it seems like Franzen can score at will. He is hands down our best goal scorer right now. 50 goals is nowhere near impossible for him, but 40 is more realistic.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 No, because other people were injured. It'd be hard for him to score 50 playing with GR players all over the lineup.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 Probably not considering during an 82 game season everyone has slumps. I can see 35-40 goals out of him in a healthy season.

But with our philosophy of rolling 4 lines it makes us more dangerous so that we dont have to rely on one player scoring 50. Depth will take us further in the playoffs than 1 superstar. Besides if that 1 superstar cools off, then you're screwed. At least this way you've got 9+ other guys who have potential to score. P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 He seems to be a bit streaky. Last regular season there were times when he didn't seem to be too interested. If he could keep his playoff mode on during the whole season then he probably could hit 50.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 If he could keep his playoff mode on during the whole season then he probably could hit 50. I don't mean to be a dick or anything, I'm just asking; Does anyone ever play like that?

skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 Even with all the other injuries, he would probably still be playing with Datsyuk...so I would think he could get at least 40 if healthy through the whole season.
Grim 5 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 Having Franzen and his production back is wonderful... but a better question might be "Can Franzen stay healthy for a whole season"??
king_malice 17 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 35 goals if he was healthy and we still had all our injuries. Fully healthy team i think he could have had 50, he is improving a ton every season.
superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted March 14, 2010 35-40 seems to be a reasonable expectation for a healthy Franzen although he can be a threat to enter the 40-50 range in the coming years if he and the team stay healthy. This chemistry with Datsyuk is quite exciting and with that new found chemistry we have a great setup man and a solid goal scorer so yeah, 50 goals could happen for Franzen but a lot has to go right. 1 Drake_Marcus reacted to this
