Wow, I was confused seeing all the old timers at the top of the thread, then I saw the date.

:D ! Me too! I though for a moment Eva returned after turning into a Flames fan when Hudler singed there....

Hear, hear!

Of course, if LA wins the Cup, that's two in three years. Which would be nuts. But would they have enough in the tank to repeat next season?

"If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating, as possibility!" - Kierkegaard

Wonder if they would have won in 98' had vladdy not been in that car crash?

Yes, and in less games.

Depends on a few things, will it go another 7?  Is their core still intact next season with no pending UFA's due for a big raise?  Will Gaborik stay as he's been amazing for them?

I like this team.

Rouse would have still played. They probably would not have made the move for Mironov or Macoun. Don't EVER underestimate Bob Rouse!!!

The answer is yes.

Konstantinov was the league's best defenseman. He would be replacing Bob Rouse on this hypothetical roster, assuming no other changes. The team without him was Cup-capable even without Vladdy and without the motivation to win it for Vladdy. Having Vladdy instead of Rouse would have more than covered that difference.

Even better; Imagine Konstantinov wasn't in his crash, Grigorenko wasn't in his, and Fischer didn't have heart issues. We still draft Fischer and Kronwall...Lidstrom and Konstantinov handing off the reins to Fischer and Kronwall? Grigorenko was Ovechkin-level when he was drafted, and then in a car crash he shattered his femur and nearly died from an embolism.

Scary roster... in a good way.

Bob Rouse = 'Old Time Hockey'...Stay @ home Dman, could block shots, make the safe plays along the boards, cleared the crease, and dropped the gloves.

Guys like him were rather common back then, but seem hard to find today.

Wow, someone likes the banhammer eh? On all the big posters?

Blueadams will pop up during draft and FA time, there is no way that guy can stay away from new line combos.

Don't remind me.  Everytime I think of this, I remember 2009 and what could have been.

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

Crymson resides on hf arguing with everyone over there now.

Eva - the everlasting supporter of why the Yotes belong in Phoenix.

Mindfly - he was sorta humorous - had opinions all over the board.

Crymson - cynical, and created an argument just for the sake of it.

Time, once again, for the annual event.

Now young man - where have you been hiding?
