Pucks 66 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 In his prime he was the most ridiculous goalie of the modern era IMO. He still has that fire, but just like Chelios the body just won't cooperate.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) In his prime he was the most ridiculous goalie of the modern era IMO. He still has that fire, but just like Chelios the body just won't cooperate. It cooperated fine last month. playoff masterpiece Dom's team only lost one game in the playoffs. He won 12 straight games with 3 shut outs to lead his team, Pardubice Eaton, to the Czech Championship. See avatar. He was named MVP of the league, top player and top goalie, with ridiculous stats -- in the playoffs and regular season. He's fine. I wish he was still in the NHL. Good luck, Dom. Play forever, if you want to. Edited May 18, 2010 by puckloo39 5 Mr.Macphisto, ChelisChick, atodaso and 2 others reacted to this

Wings_Fan_In_Exile 3 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 I'm not sure the human body is meant to bend and flex the way Hasek played all these years and now it's an old man body doing those same moves... I predict his groin muscles retire on Dom.

Play forever, if you want to. I'd like to see a Hasek/Howard tandem! Howard would have gotten tutoring from both Hasek and Osgood and we could actually throw in a goalie that would win his games when given the chance.... Hasek might even be able to snag the lead role from Howard, who knows?! 1 puckloo39 reacted to this

Exactly, he's not an NHL'er by any stretch of the imagination anymore, but if they want him and he wants to play, why not...
Datsasuk 2 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 Pretty crazy that he wants to/thinks he can still play at that high of a level. More power to him.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 He'll never go into the HOF, since he'll never retire. He's the Ric Flair of hockey at this point.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 He'll never go into the HOF, since he'll never retire. Is it a rule that you have to retire from hockey entirely, or just the NHL? He said when he left Detroit in 2008: " I am done with the NHL, but not done with the business of hockey." Apparently, he meant it.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 why retire when people want to pay you a bunch of money to do something you love doing...good for dominic. Yep. If he still thinks he can play at a competitive level and remain physically healthy, why stop anytime soon doing what he enjoys doing for a living/life and has got the support of family (I am assuming)? 2 puckloo39 and soultrain reacted to this
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Wanted to add this highlight video of Hasek's MVP championship run this year for the Dom fans who may not have seen it: :rockstar:
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Awesome. Dominik Hasek is the greatest player in goal, ever - NHL, Europe, Olympics, pick one venue or all of them. Eternally young, forever a champion. He looks no different in these clips than he did in Buffalo in the 1990's. I am proud to say I am his most loyal fan, through thick and thin. I am grateful for the joy his play has brought to me and still does. Play forever, please, Dom?
