Laughable hearing anyone, players or fans, from a team of punks like Anaheim or Calgary, complaining about penalties. its funny, i often will use data to back up my positions in an effort to appeal to their ignorant nature. in the past i used this spreadsheet i whipped up: in the spreadsheet i tallied up all the penalty totals for each team. the wings are only 9th in terms of more pp's for than against. did it get through to any of them? of course not. in that thread, you actually have someone that came up with some ratio of pp's to penalty minutes called. and of course detroit was always near the top as it doesn't factor in all the fighting majors that the wings don't get. that forum is like the fox news of hockey forums. they pretend to be all fair and balanced yet are anything but. So to start I would like to thank you Kolbe31 and Cowperson.The new rule in the NHL would verify this hit to be legal. It was not a blind side hit, the head was not targeted, and the most controversial statement of all on Kronwall.. He never left the ice till after contact. So by all means this his is legal, of course Selanne is complaining about this, no one likes to get put on there ass from a big hit. I will say though that there was contact with the head, but like I stated before is was not a hit targeting the head. The contact to Selanne's jaw from the shoulder of Kronwall was caused by the movement of Selanne. He had every chance to defend himself from the hit but he didnt. Now these claims about the refs favoring the Red Wings based on the "Penalty minute" argument, well that is just idiotic. When it comes to penalty minutes you have to factor in fighting majors, and I am sure everyone in the league knows Detroit is not a team that fights a lot. Also it is pretty much a fact that a puck possession team is more then likely going to draw more penalties and in turn be on the power play more. The fact that the Ducks are complaining about getting penalties is beyond me in the first place. They are notorious for being a team of "goons" and owning some of the higher penalty minutes in the league. If they dont like being short handed then maybe they should clean up there game some. Honestly if you believe the refs are favoring Detroit then I guess what ever excuses help you sleep at night but its moronic at the least. And calling Kronwall a dirty player is flat out stupid. His hits have also been clean, though him leaving his feet after contact make them appear borderline it is not illegal. It usually helps to have some hockey knowledge before you sit around making an ass of yourself trying to play "ref". That should stir stuff up a little bit for those Flames fans haha. They claim that he cheats and posted some videos of him in the crease yet in every video it resulted in a penalty or a waived off goal so they have nothing to say after I pointed that out.
