I love the fact Ozzys agent found out about the conference like everyone else lol. Kind of a funny situation, I also loved how Ozzy just texted him "meeting with Kenny". If he's done it'll be sad to see him go, anyone who doesnt agree the mans an absolute Icon in goal is ridiculous.


Edit: Also super stoked about him developing our young goalies, I cant think of a better guy to do this, his calm would be great for that position.

Not much to see except the news people listening to the phone conference. I'd like to hear it but will have to wait since I don't have speakers on my work computer.

If we win one more game in '09, the Cup would be ours and the Conn Smythe would likely go to Chris Osgood.

That was just two years ago. It's not ancient history.

In the playoffs, I think Ozzie still has it in him to step up to the occasion if called upon. This is because he's done it before not that long ago. Could you say the same about Ray Emery or Ty Conklin?


So much this. HoF goalie for me. He has the stats and the rings. Wonder what the +/- will be on the "I could play goal for those Wings teams" comments.

I just read that piece of tripe from Puck Daddy...he says Ozzie's career isn't "Hall worthy".

Excuse me, but three Cups, a Jennings, and 400 career wins isn't "Hall worthy"???? What planet are you living on???

This is odd to me that they're doing a conference call and not a presser for this...

I'm guessing both Osgood, and Holland are in their respective off-season homes in BC - hence the conference call.

I can see the reasoning, also with the fact that Ozzie is a soft spoken guy and never really seemed to be a "spotlight on me" kinda guy, so it makes sense in that respect, but it's still odd to me for such a storied career to end in such a fashion...

Well, you know Ozzie...never one to be flashy or obvious.

So how long after the word comes down do you think it will take for Ken Holland to have Ty Conklin under contract? I give it two hours at the most.

That sounded rather snarky. I prefer to think that it's because he is at his summer place and didn't want to take away from family time to make a big fuss. He's always been a quiet soul.

Ryan Lambert's probably gone through at least five changes of shorts since hearing the news. That idiot has such a ridiculous hate-on for Osgood, it's embarrassing. Especially since he's a Puck Daddy blogger.

As much as anyone ever was, Chris Osgood is The Consummate Red Wing. Anyone that can remember all the time he put in with this organization, through the highs and lows, especially winning Cups, and especially after being dumped and coming back undeterred and winning another, knows what this guy means to the Winged Wheel. Farewell and bon voyage, old buddy.
