Honestly , with the quality of the Livonia Hockey Association from '80's to the early 2000's I'm surprised we didn't produce a few more.

I know he's not a big name but Chris Connor is also from Livonia.I'm from Livonia, we have a few. Al Iafrate and Ryan Kesler definitely lived here. I'm not sure about Modano, he went to Livonia Franklin but I heard he lived in Westland. Brent Johnson lived in Farmington but he played for the Livonia knights.

I actually saw Kessler play when he was a kid, but I don't really remember him. My friend's son is the same age and I watch him play for years.

Thanks Offsides

I think we attended some of the same hockey camps back in peewee.

My adopted home, however, has had a few, if you count the Greater Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan area rather than just Fargo.
Paul Gaustad was born here and lived here for his first few years of life. Moorhead has produced Jason Blake, the Cullen brothers (Matt still lives in Fargo in the offseason) and one other who used to play for the Senators whose name completely slips my mind. <--- EDIT: Brian Lee, currently with the Lightning.
I've never met any of them, but the guy who used to live the street over from me and helped me lift the frame of my deck when I was building it used to work for the Cullen boys' dad.

My money on the board pledge:
$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.
An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.
$5 for a SO by Jimmy.
Hamsters' names (current players in RED): Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik
Niklas Matthieu Daniel Robert
Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan
Andrew Patrick Ian Todd
And introducing: Jordin Damien Gustav James
TOTAL SO FAR: $27

A friend of mine went to high school with Kesler. He said that the guy was a consummately self-absorbed jerk.

I have heard that about him now so it doesn't surprise me.Ryan and Drew Miller are from my hometown. I knew Corey Potter (defenseman for the Oilers) growing up; we went to the same school. He was not the nicest fellow, though this was long ago.

Kesler graduated from Churchill the year before I started so we have many mutual acquaintances. Literally no one has anything nice to say about the guy. It figures, he said he was an Av's fan growing up, so he was one of "those kids".

Dan Bylsma is from my hometown Grand Haven and Abby is from about 10 minutes away. I think the east side of Michigan is heavier on homegrown players.
We have the same hometown, haha

Southfield-- I've seen Jimmy Carson listed as from there as well as Grosse Pointe; Shawn Chambers; Tim Gleason (I coached his cousin for 3 years); and I'm pretty sure there are a couple more recent players who list Southfield as their hometown, but I can't think of who they are.
Farmington-- Brent Johnson, who is Sid Abel's grandson; Mike Vellucci, the Plymouth Whalers' coach, played 2 games with Hartford; Cam Fowler is from Farmington Hills. Again, I'm sure there are others. Oh, and Eric Lindros went to Farmington HS for a semester while playing for Compuware, before his OHL rights were traded from the Soo to Oshawa.
