vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 Wings/Leafs will be the most epic, of course, but this really makes the WC a joke, especially if they continue to do this. Way to f*** up another cool thing about hockey, NHL. DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 Oh hey, they just had to figure a way to get Pittsburgh into another one of these. They even matched them up against an opponent that means absolutely nothing, and doesn't pose any excitement. ******* stupid NHL. 1 Z Winged Dangler reacted to this

kylee 727 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 Just posted.... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/five-outdoor-nhl-games-2014-yankee-dodgers-stadium-003823881--nhl.html • Ducks vs. Kings at Dodger Stadium, Jan. 25 • Devils vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan. 26 • Islanders vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan 29 • Penguins at Blackhawks, Soldier Field, March 1 • Senators at Canucks, BC Place, March 2 There is so much wrong with this I can't believe this is actually official. The Rangers have been involved in a Winter Classic already, and now they're going to host 2 games? The Pens/Blackhawks just makes me want to puke all around, again, 2nd time Chicago will host a game. The only games I think are even...understandable is Sens and Canucks which should be great, and Ducks/Kings for thinking out of the box a bit and giving a west coast team a game. I could live without the other 3.
evilmrt 636 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 Lol the freaking Rangers get two games in a row? HAHAHA.... Also, Bettman has never been to the Midwest in March, apparently. This would be a fake report in any other league.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 It'll be interesting to see how they pull off an outdoor game in California. Dodger Stadium? No kidding. And I thought the ice was bad at the previous Winter Classics. At least it was frozen. On January 25th the average high in LA is 67 and the low is 49 degrees. GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 How exactly are they going to do ice outdoors in Los Angeles? Typical of the NHL to ruin a good thing. There's no appeal when you do it six times. 1 WINGS TILL DEATH reacted to this
Yeti 244 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 [rant] what shocks me the most is that the rangers get two before the wild gets one... and the fact that there is blandly showing favoritism... and they are taking the novelty of the WC out... [/rant]

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 You all already pointed out the idiocy. Although warm weather hockey can happen. They did it in Mexico City I think, a few years ago. Let's just make the whole season outdoors.

Ally 448 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 I just worry about what happens if all these games are really profitable. How long until every team plays one outdoor game per year, throwback sweaters and all.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 On the bright side, there will be girls in bikinis at the LA game. That will be a welcome sight in January.
Nevermind 363 Report post Posted April 17, 2013 As everyone's pretty much said, this is totally stupid. It's clearly greed on the NHL's part. These games would make a lot more money than a typical regular season game. So even if the significance of the event is watered down, the revenue will still be high for each additional outdoor game.
