He'll find a job, really good coach, but isn't the type of coach the can win players over for more then 3-5years.

This will be Babcock's fate if we lose tonight. And then by Monday we will have Torts as our new coach. Babcock you better have your **** together tonight. I don't want that man as the next head coach.

I'm just gonna LOL and hope/assume this was meant for the sake of humor.

Our coach that brought this rebuilding team not only to the playoffs, but deep into the 2nd round after defeating the red hot 2nd seed Ducks and into a game 7 against the 1st seed Hawks and potentially further.

I'm just gonna laugh at your humor and never check this thread again and see if you were serious or not. Good one! *knee slap*

As for Torts gone, that team needs fresh blood without question. One can only wonder what that team would look like if they still had Gabby with a new coach next season...

Rangers could be a different looking team next season. Ryane Clowe, Roman Hamrlik, Steve Eminger, and Matt Gilroy are all UFAs. I think its safe to say Hamrlik walks or retires. Gilroy didn't see much playing time, so.I could see him walking. Who knows with Clowe and Eminger.

I don't expect drastic changes, because they've got a good core of players in Ryan Callahan, Carl Hagelin, Derek Stepan, Derrick Brassard, Ryan McDonagh, and Dan Girardi.

Lindy Ruff a possible replacement?

I assume you are joking?

Gotta be joking, but talk about motivation if that rumour gets into the locker room!

Babs - "Hey guys gather'round.....Just so you all know; we lose tonight; I lose my job, and Kenny's already been on the phone with 'Torts'".....

{silence}

Babs - "Alright then.....HANTA YO!"

Good coach, but too big of an arsehole for players to deal with for long. With Torts gone, and Richards likely to follow suit in the offseason, it'll be a different type of Rangers team next year.

Wonder if Torts ends up in Vancouver and Vigneault ends up in New York.

This has the capacity to happen in the Bizarro Universe. Certainly not in ours.

LOL, when is Glen Sather supposed to be fired?

This is his 3rd coach that he has hired and fired. He has a bigger rap sheet of bad signings than ANYONE!!!!!

How many Cups? 0 (zero)

He is the Matt Millen of hockey.

He coached the Oilers to four Stanley Cups. He is, however, a terrible GM.

After the way he handled the Richards situation players will even hate it more to play for him, so no sane GM should go that route, because it would make it that much more difficult to attract top guys.

Most unsurprising fire ever. I think he's a decent coach but he more than worn out his welcome there.

Any media outlet that would hire John Tortorella should be ashamed.

Love how Katie Strang posted it as BREAKING NEWS, as if nobody saw it coming

Edit: My guess is that TSN hires him back

Highly doubtful TSN is easily the best one outthere, they have Dreger, MacKenzie, LeBrun, Ward, Duthie and so much other great stuff they don't need this jackass.

The downside is they may now get a coach who will have that team playing up to their abilities, right as the Wings are moving to the East.

Torts in Vancouver would be the ideal fit. Team needs a culture change, the city loves drama, and Torts loves the spotlight. He'll get it there, that's for sure lol.

Torts should go to CBC and phase himself into the new Don Cherry.

Incredibly opinionated, abrasive, former coach and doesn't care one little bit what anyone thinks of him. All he needs to do is develop a distaste for all things European and he'd basically be a younger Cherry already.

Just my personal opinion, and I realize that others don't have to share it, but I feel that Torts is easier to look at.

Didn't he do the BITTER BEER commercial?
