wingsfan4795 552 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 (edited) How so?Richdg likes to think he's an expert on every draft prospect. I think I trust Detroit's scouting staff given their reputation Edited June 30, 2013 by wingsfan4795 2 sjr2012 and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
Richdg 267 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 No way for you to know that until 5 years from now. when a guy is ranked 230th by CS you can wait. No I have no idea how he will turn out. But there is no reason to take him now. He would have been there in the 5th, 6th, 7th rounds.

TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 He had 117 penalty minutes last season with Guelph. Sounds like this kid might be pretty tough and possibly gritty. Interesting

So, it is really a worthless statement.
WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 They must have heard that someone else wants him tooThat's what I'm thinking. If he can be Callahan+ this could be a decent pick, but I can't believe there weren't other options if he got picked early.

TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 From what I'm reading the Wings like his "aggressive in your face" style, and apparently the kid is a grinder and likes to play in the hard areas. Could be a really good pick for what some say this team lacks

Think of a Callahan without the fighting ability...who still fights a lot. Strange pick but as with all picks there's many years for him yet.
Datsyukian-Deke 722 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 I guess that means Bert is gone. I think it was part of the collective bargaining agreement that you can only have 1 bertuzzi per franchise. 1 F.Michael reacted to this

He would have been there in the 5th, 6th, 7th rounds. I can give you a good reason why to take him now. Another team shows interest in taking him before you pick again. CS means nothing when your own scouts think hes better. If CS meant everything then Dats and Hank would have been 1st rounders. Richdg 267 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 He is 5-9/160ish and not a scorer. There are far better prospects at every position still on the board.

Datsyukian-Deke 722 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 Although I agree he prolly could have been taken later, there is a reason he was picked when he was and you got a trust a team that IMO has the best scouts in the league. 4 TheDetroitRedWings, marcaractac, Hockeymom1960 and 1 other reacted to this

BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted June 30, 2013 I guess that means Bert is gone. I think it was part of the collective bargaining agreement that you can only have 1 bertuzzi per franchise. Having multiple Bertuzzis was grandfathered in for teams that had an existing Bertuzzi on the roster prior to the new CBA taking effect. 4 Hockeymom1960, Datsyukian-Deke, TheDetroitRedWings and 1 other reacted to this
