Season Predictions

Well everyone, another season is apon us!

I'm not sure if you're as excited as I am for this upcoming season, but I absolutely can't wait!

So everyone give 10 predictions for the upcoming season, we'll come back afterwards and see if anyone was close! (doesn't have to be just DRW predictions)

1. Jimmy Howard wins Vezina in a landslide. Will be considered top 3 goaltender in league.

2. Daniel Alfredsson scores 35 goals but gets hurt at end of season and misses playoffs.

3. Steven Stamkos scores 60 goals.

4. Chicago wins the Stanley Cup (I'm sorry...I'm sorry)

5. Pittsburgh misses playoffs

6. Toronto regresses and gets top 10 draft pick yet again.

7. Sidney Crosby & Evgeni Malkin score over 105 points each.

8. Filppula finishes under 45 points

9. Detroit/Toronto HBO special finishes with highest ever ratings.

10. Dan Cleary forces us to all love him again. We hate every moment of it.

I'll play!

1) Tootoo wins many fights. Red-blooded hockey fans love him. Others fear him.

2) Ericsson continues to improve to the point that he meets LGW expectations.

3) Z and Pavel re-activate their Eurotwin Powers.

4) Helm finally gets healthy.

5) Helm scores on a breakaway. Just one, though.

6) Bertuzzi makes it through the season healthy, wins fights, and dazzles with his spin-o-rama.

7) Bertuzzi gets penalized for exposed elbow pads, but convinces Shanny and co. that his jersey is just too intimidated of what he might do to it if it fails to follow his wishes that the "Bertuzzi clause" is introduced.

8) Sammy is a healthy scratch, used only when needed to replace injured players.

9) Sammy scores the first two goals in the SCF like he did the last time I dared to doubt him publicly, thus making a fool out of myself.

10) Vancouver wins the cup, with Lu as the Conn Smythe winner.

Note: I do not want the last one, but since "Detroit wins the Cup!" is too easy, I went for something a bit more fantasy-like.

1. Datsyuk and Zetterberg play 90% of the season together and rack up 180 points between them.

2. Franzen scores 40 goals and people still b!tch about him.

3. Alfredsson plays under 60 games but still puts up over a point per game.

4. Filppula outscores Weiss during regular season but Weiss turns into a beast in the playoffs, while Filppula watches at home.

5. Helm remains out until December and comes back and plays 40+ games and is healthy for the playoffs.

6. Abdelkader disappoints on the top line and rotates up and down the lineup with Bertuzzi and Cleary.

7. Nyquist and Tatar play 75+ games with the big club and put up 100 points between them.

8. Samuelsson plays less than 20 games and scores less than 10 points.

9. Kronwall has a career year, racking up 55+ points with 30 coming with the man advantage

10. DeKeyser puts up 30+ points while becoming the main shutdown guy and ends up second in Calder voting.

11. Howard has a career year, taking Detroit past the second round and finally gets recognized as a top 5 goalie in the league.

12. Red Wings beat the Maple Leafs 5-4 in overtime on New Years day.

3. Datsyuk and z hit 90 points each
4. Florida wins the cup... In golf
5. Chicago gets knocked out second round
6. We knock Pittsburgh out in the conference finals

8. Tatar scores 20 goals
9. Ovie out produces crysby
10. Howard should win the vezina but rinne or someone with worse numbers wins... For some unknown reason

2. Rangers finally put it all together and win the East defeating the Wings in the ECF.

3. Sharks get to the WCF as well, but lose to the Blackhawks.

4. Rangers over Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Final.

5. Ducks regress and miss the playoffs.

6. Predators bounce back and make the playoffs.

7. Penguins win the Presidents' Trophy.

8. Stephen Weiss struggles in his first season in Detroit forcing Datsyuk and Zetterberg back apart.

9. DeKeyser/Kindl emerges as a very solid pairing.

10. Darren Helm plays hockey again at some point.

10) Nobody will pay attention to the supposed curse of the team who lost the NHL Final the year before and they all pick Boston first in the Atlantic Division.

8) Islanders surprise if they get goaltending

7) Blues win the West

6) Still won't get NHL Center Ice in high def on Comcast

5) Wings will win the one game I get to see at JLA this year Oct 12 vs Philly

4) Wings will win ALL the games I see them play at MSG and the Prudential Center

3) This is the year the Sharks, led by Joe Thornton, RISE UP in the playoffs. Wait, no it isn't...

2) USA gold, Sweden silver, Canada bronze.

1) The big silver chalice is coming back to the D.

i know the nhl writers and analysts are not the greatest, but quite a few people are putting us on top of our division, and even the conference, with one analyst picking us as the eventual polished goblet winner... take from it what you will

4. We make an unimpressive trade at the deadline

5. Deke is a top Calder candidate, but loses to Jones

2. Pittsburgh, washington, Boston, mtl, Toronto will finish as the top five teams.

3. Abby scores 25 goals and finishes with about 60 points.

4. My boy smith finally pulls it together and looks like a future too line guy.

5. Zetterburg, Sammy, Bert, helm, Jonas, andkronwall all miss some significant time due to injuries.

6. Dats shows he is still one of the best in the business all year long and gets 100 points.

7. Franzen has less than 20 goals. 5 of which will be in two games. And continues to prove me right and hopefully gets bought out.

8. Weiss will have a worse year than lecavier and fil.

9. Ericsson and smith and tootoo will all win multiple fights this year. Obviously tootoo will be in a lot more....

10. Bobby Ryan will have a beast year in Ottawa. And I'll continue to cry that we didn't get him.
