The tragedy of this game is that Dan Cleary has had our best scoring chances.

It's not surprising. Cleary plays ugly grinding hockey that's suited to these kind of conditions.

I think part of the reason Babcock loves him is because Cleary isn't afraid to go the net and take a beating. There aren't many players on the Wings who do that regularly.

Maybe we just need to shove Cleary in a freezer for an hour prior to game time, it might be the key to getting him playing well. He's been very noticeable all game.

Has he left the ice? I swear every time I look Cleary is out there.

Babcock, who is still stuck in 2010, uses him as the go-to guy despite the latter being totally ineffective.

He has also been playing a lot better these past couple of weeks. Come playoff time we'll be glad we have him.

Yeah, but he's not scoring. His grinding out style belongs on the 4th line, where you don't expect offensive productivity.

Making the playoffs is hardly inevitable for this team. We saw that last season.

Which is where he's been playing, hasn't he?

This game I could see him getting more minutes because it's likely going to be an ugly goal that wins it.
