Lol internet ur right its wishful thinking but it was a terrible signing and its mostly his groin I think so time should heal it well and to package him with quincy cleary or maybe bert would be a W for wings (Bert welcomed back in Vancouver after the Moore disaster and suspension?)

It wasn't a terrible signing. He got hurt right out of the gate.

what

Phoenix has been rumored to be willing to move Yandle. Edler is apparently available from Vancouver. Nashville may or may not be willing to move Weber. They are all signed for a few more years. none of those teams should be looking to jsut rebuild and get a bunch of picks and prospects, they're going to want players who help now. Girardi and MacDonald are the best d-men available other than those 3 guys, and they are both rentals.

Yea he got hurt out of gate but look at what he's been doing for Florida last 3-4 years (albeit in florida) he's not really the talented player he was years ago... And now he looks injury prone (even tho like I said above groin just takes time to heal and can get back to 'normal' I suppose)

For almost 5 mill it was not a good signing

I'm just not sure there's much logic in moving a cornerstone player when you're a bubble team in an all-hands-on-deck battle for that second wild card spot. Unless the return is delicious. But even then... The Preds have a shot at making the playoffs. So, naturally, they...move Shea Weber at the deadline? Because they're in a position to win now and they want to add a player or two of immediate and significant value? That...seems weird to me.

I mean, I'd love for it to be true that Edler, Yandle, and Weber are all really, truly on the block and that we might even have a shot at one of them. But I'm thinking the respective GMs are probably just curious more than anything else.

Yeah, I don't necessarily think any of them will be moved in the next week, but if they're going to get a top D, those are the 3 most likely options.

His last 4 healthy seasons, Weiss had 61, 60, 49, and 57 points. Last year he had wrist surgery. This year it's his groin. I don't think that makes him injury prone, just unlucky. To me injury prone is either a recurring injury (Hank's back) or several years of different injuries (Colaiacovo).

Depending on which site you're going with, the Preds chances of making the playoffs is anywhere from 3-10%. So while they may have a shot, it's not a very realistic one as they sit there in last place in the Central.

Trading away Weiss before he has had a chance to play uninjured for the Wings just isn't going to happen. You can keep suggesting it every couple of pages, but rational people realize we haven't seen what the guy can really do in a Wings' sweater.

Why not, especially if he can be swapped in a package with Kesler? Kesler could be a perfect fit for Pavs wing this season, and he already let it out of the bag that he wants to leave Vancouver, so Gilly may have to cut bait, and Weiss gives him a supposed solid 2C. Their contracts are tradable.

Edler has been rumored all season. While he's not the 2nd Coming, so to speak, he'd certainly add the puck moving element we've sorely missed. Quincey is certainly serviceable to Vancouver's system to satisfy the "hockey trade" portion of the equation, and sell Almquist as the next Rafalski, and those contracts are tradeable .

Throw in Andy to sweaten the deal so they can stack Sedin, Weiss, Santorelli, and Andy down the middle.

They move two guys who desperately need a change of scenery, both of whom could instantly make us contenders. And they receive quality roster players that can contribute as well as undervalued prospect AA.

It's a win/win and the contracts work.

Kesler denied asking ever asking for trade, per elliotte friedman

I heard Kesler's sound bite on the radio, but he can't admit yes to that question, especially after Luongo saga.

Ehroff has been asked where he'd like to be traded.

Bruins inquiring about Ottawas Phillips (doubt they'd trade with us)

More accurately, Erhoff was asked for a list of 8 teams that he would not go to, per Vancouvers Team 1040.

Well he missed time in Nov, was it his groin then too?(can't remember) Idk maybe I'm comepletly wrong I think the wings had enough depth to not have to sign him (who knew the kids would play like they are)

Gillis would be hanged.

They are already building the scaffold anyway. 89% of fans polled expect Canucks will not make the playoffs and most think it's Gillies fault, per Team 1040.

St. Louis would be my choice even though he has stated that he would only waive his no trade to go to NYR

If we go for Vanek or Kesler we are losing one or more of Tatar, Nyquist, Jurco, and Sheahan.

I'd imagine Gilly would want/need a center for Kesler. Their centerman cupboard is bare, so Weiss and Andy would stock it up well.

IMO as long as we don't lose Nyquist or Tatar I'm fine with it. Although I would MUCH rather have Vanek than Kesler. Kesler is better defensively, but Vanek is and always was a goal scoring machine. We already have plenty of 2-way forwards. Adding a 30-40 goal scorer would be great for this team. I want a top 2 defenseman more than anything. But if we can't get one, Vanek would be a nice consolation.

I have a hard time seeing us getting Kesler and Edler for Weiss, Quincey, Andersson, and Almquist

Yeah, even NHL14 would laugh at that trade....Never gonna happen.

Lol redwings your the man said everything I feel... But why I can see that trade happenin we send Bert back to where he made his name and most memorable big Bert moment (Vancouver) maybe add cleary there too

I just don't think we should get or need kesler

This could maybe make sense as both teams get guys on expiring contracts. Maybe Quincey and a 3rd or 2nd for macdonald

I'm no Kyle Quincey fan, but that seems like overpayment. I think, best case scenario, MacDonald is a marginal upgrade to Quincey and I'm not even convinced of that. If the Wings are going to make a deal for a d-man and give up picks/assets, it should be for a player that solidifies the second pairing.

Stafford would be another cheap option, I think he can still put up some decent numbers just needs to go somewhere he can be motivated by the players around him.

Stafford has another year at $4M so I wouldn't call him "cheap option" and BTW our top 3 lines are stacked. Do we really need another forward? If we are looking for some F I would rather go after someone who will kick Neil (and sim.) ass for the 4th line.

This team NEEDS DEF UPGRADE !!!!!

Trade deadline time: (thought process of the Wings "fan")

All the other teams players are awesome. Wings need them all.

Most Wings players are expendable.

... honestly, if these players were all so important, they wouldn't be "available". Most "fans" just want trades for the sake of trades.

Hmm, like Kesler and Edler, Gold and Silver medal Olympians with SCF experience.
