Not like he's not getting paid during this time of injury.

Sitting at home can heal any back injury if you have a nice couch and a hot wife.

Yeah he did sign on for both. The point is he didn't HAVE to. He chose to stay because the Wings give him the respect that he deserves and let him captain his olympic team in his home country. If they hadn't done that he might have decided to play in them anyway and not resign.
