Then you're a loser with a losing mentality

I dont really care what you think Dickie. I dont like Lucic, i dont like Kane, those are the only two players I simply do not want here because I believe they are bad guys. I want to win as much as anyone, but not not with them.

Personally I feel like bringing in "bad" people/players - our org CAN change them for the better. For whatever reason the management here breeds good responsible/people (see McCarty's change after drug issue in 08). With that said I can see why some people prefer not to have guys like Lucic and Kane here.

I see what you are saying, there is some truth to that. In McCarty's case, I dont think he was a bad guy. I think he was a guy who struggled with addiction and needed help.

I will say this, if Lucic was able to change and become more of a humble guy, I could probably grow to tolerate him.

Kane, that one is an entire different level. Likely none of us will ever know the true him, but if its what I think it is, I wouldn't want him here under any circumstances.

Here's an up-to-date version of that Waiver Schedule. Just scroll to the far right to see it, along with the current contracts.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HrNkrJx215MOeOThLvHvyOqz-bzcx04dgWohyYIbLBg/edit#gid=702761773

Bertuzzi and mantha an play another 2 full years in Grand Rapids before having to clear waivers?

Man, after looking at that spread sheet: It really would make sense to package up some forwards/defenceman and bring in 1 forward and 1 defenceman. We have so many guys. Can Pulks play? Jurco? Is Smith a piece going forward? Can/will we move Ericsson? How about Tatar and Nyquist? There's a lot to work with here, I wouldn't mind seeing us carry 8D so as to not lose Jensen/Sproul and give them chances to play. I didn't know Frk is out of options, I've liked his development to this point and god knows we could use someone that can score goals.

This team might be very similar next season, but hell, they could be very different too. I know people (myself included until I see otherwise) don't believe Kenny can wheel and deal anymore, but his words at the presser today at least gives me the tiniest bit of hope we might sort out the log jams.

“There were situations I definitely wasn’t happy with this year, when those situations arose,” Helm said, not expanding on what those situations were. “I want to see why that happened as often as it did and make sure I find a place where it won’t happen as often.”

Said Holland: “I have interest in Helmer coming back but it takes two to tango.”

So Helm didn't give the generic "I want to stay here" comments? He's a goner.

I don't see any on ice things for Helm to complain about. He got played way over his station often. Wonder if there really is some behind the scenes drama.

From watching all the interviews today including players Blashill and Holland there seems to be some tension for sure. I get the feeling the organization is disappointed in how certain hopefuls performed. Zetterberg saying the next ones need to earn it says a lot in my opinion. I don't want them to give up on Tats and Gus but perhaps they feel entitled to something because of last year...I have always been a fan of Helm but maybe he believes he has outgrown his role. Going to be an interesting off season with most players predicting changes. Maybe there are some bad apples...

Anybody see and Nyquist comments or anything from Green?

Lol, Helm's not happy with his "situation"? Apparently playing with Pavel for a good portion of the season displeases him. Screw that guy.

Tell you what buddy, make good on any of the 10,000 breakaways you get and we'll talk turkey.

If I had to guess, the younger crowd doesn't like Blash as much as they thought they would. I know the veterans all spoke highly of Blashill in their interviews today. Zetterberg straight up said he thought a coaching change was necessary and thought Blashill did well for his first year.

Helm sounds sour though. Can't imagine what Jurco and Pulk think of Blash.

Tatar not happy with his performance and thought this year his position was tougher. "This team needs changes"

All speculation of course. Might be reading too much into it.

I don't really care. Neither should be on the team anyway. Jurco had his chances and Pulk is just too one dinensional.

100% agree. I think the ones who came up under him in GR thought it would go different but he expected them to abide by his system. Have to wonder now if that's why the vets got the ice time. Maybe they were more willing. Who knows.

This is pure speculation, but I assume he is referring to when he was put on the 4th line? Implying he should always be playing top 6 minutes, and wants to put himself in a position for next year where he is always playing top 6 minutes?

It's either that or the locker room must be divided about something. I'm not 100% if Helm is having an issue with the coach or is it with something within the team itself.

But assuming it does have to do with his usage I would say your guess is correct simply because under Babcock, Helm got to play with Datsyuk a lot and under Blashill he didn't spend as much time with him and was demoted to 4th line a few times.

If that's the case, good luck, Helm.

Interesting.

Not really. After all it can't account for situations. How many goals was said goalie hung out to dry? Defensive breakdowns? How many times did each goalie make an amazing initial save only to have the defense not clear the front of the net? Those sort of things are why the eyeball test is still important.
