I don't see a team that would be willing to take his salary. Maybe to ARI to help them sell more seats and keep them at the cap floor. Maybe.. Seattle if he continues to fall. I don't doubt he has a NTC.

He does.......I have to say I love seeing the fall of the Hawks. I hope they suck for a very long time.

Chicago winning the draft lottery would just be a dagger in my already cold cold heart.

I hope they win. The league isn't as fun when the Hawks are bad.

They're nowhere near the suckage of the Red Wings for years to come. Hawks are a 2 year re-tool away from being back in the mix. Red Wings, about 5 years after Holland leaves.

No, the Hawks are going to fall. Seabrook bad contract, Keith is done, Toews and Kane both have bad contracts, Crawford sucks, Saad sucks, they traded away Panarin lol. They won't be relevant for awhile, they don't scare teams anymore.

2000-2010 was pretty fun.

Absolutely, '94-2000 was fun if you were a Wings fan. I remember the Hawks being pretty good for most of the nineties tho. I was just saying that it WAS fun even when they were bottom feeders.

No.

It wasby far the most boring stretch of hockey if you weren't a Wings fan. 4 years of dead puck, a lockout, the dreadful Eastern conference, etc.

The Hawks 2009-15 run was the most entertaining period of hockey in the modern era

Btw, Toews has actually had a good year. He was overrated last year and in 2016. But not anymore. Hawks have really solid possession metrics with him on the ice vs off.

Yet they still suck, interesting.

I was, so it was.

As much as people hate Abby's, Nielsen's, and Helm's contracts, I would rather be stuck with any one of  those than be stuck with a 10 mil+ per year Toews contract with a NMC.

Has a lot to do with their D-core, no goaltending. Not Toews.

That was not point, my point was that they still suck despite having good possession metrics, that being funny given your obsession with Corsi.

With that being said, I do think that Towes is a factor. Guy is just not good enough to carry a team that is not stacked.

But he's the best captain in hockey, am I right?

You must not understand the point of puck possession then. It only matters so much if you have decent goaltending and you can limit opposing team's scoring chances, both in which the Blackhawks are terrible at. They don't have any issues controlling the puck otherwise.

As far as your hatred of analytics goes, They won 3 titles in 6 years leading the league in Corsi. The Penguins repeated as the leader in Corsi. The worst corsi team of the past 5 years has been Arizona and Buffalo. Interesting.

Second Bold: lol ok. I am a strong believer in analytics, you however take it to an extreme. There is no doubt the Blackhawks used to be very good, not disputing that.

First Bold: You actually hit the nail on the head. Possession is just one piece to the puzzle, the way you talk its the be all end all which is ridiculous.

It goes both ways though. A team can be great at possession, but still not be good (ie. Blackhawks) BUT at the same time, a team can be ok at possession and still be good if they are strong in other area's. Sure if you suck at possession, you are likely not going to be good (ie. Arizona/Buffalo) but there is more to hockey then just possession, hence its one piece of the puzzle.
