Booth would be a depth player for GR, Nothing else and he would get league minimum has nothing to do with the salary cap. 50 minutes ago, krsmith17 said: Gotcha. So the $933K is correct? Yup the $933K is the correct one.

That leaves just over $900,000 for Vanek. Nice.
kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted August 30, 2017 Yeah, assuming GR will lose Bertuzzi to the main roster, Callahan in the offseason, and maybe Frk to waivers I don't think this is a bad idea. I don't think any of our young forwards are ready to step in so it's not like he's taking a spot from anyway. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this

DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 Booth getting a PTO is basically insurance in case they have some injuries in camp and need a warm body.
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 (edited) I'm tending to go down the line that Kenny isn't confident of keeping AA and Booth is a Cheap option with plenty NHL exp to fill the void. Edited August 31, 2017 by Andy Pred
amato 3,210 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2017/08/30/detroit-red-wings-david-booth/617593001/ Apparently the PTO was a request from Booth. That makes more sense, I suppose. He probably wants back into the league and was in the area training in the off season. 1 PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this
