Honestly - the way this is playing out - it might actually be smart to do nothing today, and wait till this panic buying ends. Then sign some depth guys to REASONABLE deals and explore trades.

Do you get in a bidding war for him, or would you rather explore a trade for Laine? Not saying he's available, but Montreal is over the cap and that would be a good cap dump.

My only hope is that deals have been done and waiting for "i".s to be dotted and "t"'s to be crossed before announcing..which can often be agents letting players involved know before announcing.  Maybe Compher and Copp are out on Lake St. Clair and have no cell signal??

I love having a genius GM. He zigs when everyone else zags. Like, the whole world seems to think we need to improve our defense and get tougher up front in the top six.
