I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble if you're throwing an octopus in the Joe. The staff are Wings fans too! If I were you I'd save the octopus for the first Wings goal, though. Bring 10 or 12, actually, and throw them out whenever we win a faceoff.

Babcock dug his grave some time ago. This is not about Howard or Osgood. It's not about which goaltender we like or who we prefer in goal. This is about a coach who rendered his backup goaltender virtually useless by keeping him on the bench for an unreasonable amount of games. And that's just poor coaching in my opinion.

I like this idea because it truly signifies that there is finally a goalie that the fans feel has replaced Ozzie. Hasek-Joseph-Legace none of those guys ever got the crowd chant love from the fans like Ozzie does. They were loved, but Ozzie gets the huge love from Wings fans. Would be nice to share it with Howie now that Ozzie is passing the torch.

YES. Thanks blueadams, your line threads help the Red Wings to victory and your absence has been troubling. As for the actually post I don't disagree with a whole lot the cap is hard to predict the raises and everything I'd probably change a few numbers but that's nitpicking. It's going to be interesting what happens with our D, Kindl doesn't have many options left, but the Wings really like what Lilja can bring as a 5-6th defenseman.

Howard wouldn't be in this position if the Wings actually had a capable back up for him. It's not his fault he had to carry this team for so many games as a rookie and is now feeling the effects of such a long season. Blame Holland for not getting a serviceable back up in my opinion.

The botched hand off was Jimmy's fault in my opinion. He hurried it to an unsuspecting Kronwall, which he's done a number of times this series including to Lidstrom yesterday. It's obvious that Jimmy is feeling some pressure, as has been noted.

I think Ericsson has too much potential for a goal to justify taking him out in favor of Lebda. Example. Final Score: PIT 2 (Talbot x2) DET 1 (Ericsson) Painful memory, but he was the only reason we were even close to winning that game (on the scoresheet anyway).

Concur. Very much so. I think Osgood's own "supporters" you could say are preparing for the worst as opposed to thinking with some perspective. I think they're thinking that we very well might see Osgood soon, which is I think far closer to a reality than some think. But in recognizing that rust is there, they're preparing their arguments of defense already. I'm not going to do that, because year after year, people think of all new ways to count the guy out, and somehow he always finds a way to come through. Sure, he may not (but I'm not going to go into defense mode now after all I've seen from him through the years), and Howard may get a shut-out in the next game, but I ******* don't give a s*** either way so long as we start winning ASAP. WIN!!!!!!!!!! I don't really care how. Just ******* win.

Especially a 57pt player who did it playing on the 3rd line.
