Anyone else bugged by us being "like" Chicago, even though Chicago copied us?

Hasn't Chris been the de facto decision maker for Ilitch Holdings for quite a while now? I know Mike and Marian write the checks, but if I'm not mistaken Chris has been the go-to guy for a few years. If so, it's basically just making the situation official in spite of the fact that it's been the reality for quite a while. Edit: Just looked it up, Chris is the President and CEO of Ilitch Holdings and has been since 2004. So I wouldn't worry too much about any changes to the way the team does business.

Though i agree tukka wouldve made it alot closer.We also were without 2/3s of our second line. Great game, not indicative of what well see in the regular season. But i firmly believe the east just isn't used to seeing the skill we have.

I'm sure he is still learning the system. He did say it's totally different than what he's used to playing.

Weiss is still learning the system, so his offense hasn't come around yet, but he's good on the faceoff, good on d, and distributing the puck well. The rest of his game will come along.

I agree somewhat about the playoffs, but the writer is off their rocker. Datsyuk is not way past his prime nor is Zetterberg

Samuelsson in for Franzen? Why why why why why why why why why does Babs have such a raging hard-on for Cleary and Samuelsson?

I'm not so sure it's Franzen's production that people have a gripe about. At least for me personally, it's more the appearance that Franzen doesn't show up to play every game. He is a great value for the contract, but that doesn't make floating and lack of effort acceptable. Franzen's massive playoff years probably skewed some expectations, though in reality Franzen hasn't performed at all in the playoffs since then. So, when your fallback is "playoff performer" and then you don't do that anymore -- combined with the floating during the regular season, that's where fans start to get upset with Franzen. I agree that Weiss centering a line should help out Franzen this season. He needs somebody to do most of the work.
