I think Vanek and Wisniewski both refused to play for the Isles as well. Joke organization really.

Igor corrects himself right after this tweet to "not there". So basically Sorokin won't sign with the Isles until Snow is fired (Eronko is a very reliable source). Sorokin was a 3rd rounder for the Isles in 2014 and has been one of the most dominant goalies in the KHL since then. He's only 22 now, but has been Moscow's starting goalie for I believe 3 seasons now. 1. We should consider trading for the rights to this kid 2. Do debacles like this further motivate Tavares to leave? 3. Lmao Snow is sucha joke how does this man still have a job?

The cap is kind of the problem. Because of the cap, you can't really build a team through trades or free agency anymore. You have to draft well. Seeing as how the Pens were the worst team in the league for a number of years and acquired several high draft picks going into the cap era, it played out perfectly in their favor. Chicago experienced success the same way. Meanwhile, the rest of the league is stuck half way between trying to be competitive and drafting for the future. You basically need to tank at the right time aka when generational talent like Crosby and Ovechkin come into the league, do that for a few years and then ride that out for 10-15 years. Edmonton would have had the same success as Pittsburgh except they didn't have good players to choose from until McDavid came along.

IF they run with those lines, they have the potential to be better. However, the chances of them running with those lines are slim. There's no guarantee all of those players will even be with the team in October. Also as much as I'd like to see it, there's about a zero percent chance Blashill runs that defensive shutdown 4th line. It'll be Glendening and some combination of Svechnikov, Frk and Rasmussen (if he even makes the team)... I love your optimism, and I'd usually be right there with you, and maybe (hopefully) I will be in the next couple months, when Holland maybe (hopefully) makes a few shrewd moves to get this team back on the right track...

That would be dumb. You have 3 offensively talented guys on that line. If he wants a shutdown line, roll out Glen, Helm, Abby. These are the lines ur rolling with and you think the team won't be better next year?

He's a freelance writer that used to work for ESPN, Sirius, NHL.com etc. He's usually pretty legit, but yeah I think he's just trying to stir the pot with this one. Yzerman to the Leafs is just... no

Good prospect news: Givani Smith has 18 points in 18 playoff games. Larsson named USHL goalie of the year.
