mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 (edited) wow, looking at your avatar...wow. Henne is a man among boys? You are absolutely absurd. There is a reason why I don't post in the LGW college football thread, and this is it. Look at USC and Nebraska's non-conf schedules. Do you watch ANY college football except for Michigan??!The Big 10 was a complete joke this year. Outside of a few teams, the entire conference was worthless. Besides getting angry at me because I'm not a Wolverines slappy like yourself, PLEASE give me a reason why I should agree with Eva's post that "4 pts away from a National Championship".... The fact that you even brought up PSU as a team out of "the many" that I said Michigan would have to contend with for a Natl' title tells me that you indeed know nothing about college football and just live inside your own little world of UM/Big 10 oblivion. How about these: OHIO STATE FLORIDA ALABAMA LOUISVILLE WISCONSIN and Boise State- may not have strength of schedule, but they're/were undefeated. Very mature telling me to "Get out of here" just because I don't agree with the arrogant thought that Michigan was "this close" to a National Championship. PS- Eva already has Florida losing to OSU. I wouldn't say that I would bet against the Bucks, but I wouldn't sell the Gators short just yet- they're a much more athletic team than Michigan and the SEC owns the Big 10 as a whole. I would bet money that I have watched the most college football here. I agree that Michigan wasn't 4 points away from a NC. But just because a U-M fan here thinks that it doesn't mean that I think that as well. Yes, they were close to getting to the NC game, but playing FLA would be a very hard test. The reason I brought Penn State in is because Happy Valley is one of the hardest places to play in the nation, and they just beat Tennessee. Whats wrong with a man among boys? Duh Henne isn't the best QB in the nation, but he's the 2nd best QB in the Big Ten, and has to be top 5 in the nation. Yeah my avator is arrogant, but it's just all for fun. I don't see you mocking people who had the avator "In Drew (Stanton) we trust". It's also very mature calling me a "U-M slappy" since you have not been in here all year. If you would read I try my best to be respectful to Chamber, Timothy, and HTRW about their views on U-M, OSU, and MSU. I respect them because they also respect me, and I enjoy reading the thoughts of other fans, and also respect their passion for MSU/OSU. I normally am not on the same side you are at but this I definately am. Any place that has 107,282 fans has to be a tough place to play. I got upset with Eva's comment about "4 points away from a National Championship" because he made beating Florida as easy as beating Eastern Michigan. Michigan's performance yesterday isnt even worthy of beating the Detroit Lions. With your Henne "man among boys" comment, I got a chuckle when I saw it but you are absolutely right because I posted my "in drew we trust" for easily the last 2 years. I honestly think Henne is overrated and can't win the big game. All that can change next season tho. And finally, I respect your views and opinions even tho I can't stand your team. I never will abandon my school in Michigan State even wearing my MSU gear to yesterday's Rose Bowl party at Matt's house, even tho it probably killed Matt and all the other LGWers whom are Michigan fans. I expect you to never abandon your school and you better have your "men among boys" avatar up next year.

Your right about U-M's performance..it was worse then the Lions, but it happens to everyone...sadly it has happend too much against OSU/bowl teams recently. Gators short just yet- they're a much more athletic team than Michigan and the SEC owns the Big 10 as a whole. PSU beat Tenn, and Wisky beat Arkansas. Really looks like the SEC owns the Big 10 to me, but what do I know. Somehow you figured out I ONLY WATCH Big 10 footbal l.....

There is a reason why I don't post in the LGW college football thread, and this is it. Why start now then? All season it's been a good thread where everyone gets along. Sure there's some trash talking but its all in good fun. There's another Detroit sports forum I post on where I avoid college football topics that don't concern the Spartans. Why? Because the place is crawling with your typical obnoxious WalMart-Wolverine fans. Here, all the Michigan fans are cool, even the ones who didn't go there There's nothing wrong with Manny's avatar. I've rocked a In Drew We Trust avatar the last couple years.

I remember a few weeks ago my internet didn't work, and I paniked because I couldn't read this forum (sad I know ) Like I already said- I know my avator isn't literally true, but I just did it for fun. You can call it biased, and thats fine because well it is.... Probably tonight or something I will change my avator to something sad and pathetic like Dion Harris or Tommy Amaker
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 You want pathetic, you could change it to Carr I read this on another site Carr is 0-6 in the last two games of the season for the past three seasons 1-5 against OSU his last 6 tries Lloyd is right now 2-10 finishing the season (last two games) over the past six seasons. Ouch. Granted, those aren't John L. Smith-like ending season numbers, but that doesn't look good. So what do UM fans want to see happen with Lloyd? I was pretty impressed how UM bounced back from a bad (by their standards) season last year. 11-2 is pretty impressive, but when your two losses are OSU and your bowl game, that's never good. Is it time for some new blood at UM?

I've rocked a In Drew We Trust avatar the last couple years. My initial post in this thread wasn't even TO mannysBETTER, it was to a horribly odd post saying that Michigan was only 4 points away from a National Championship, which they were not. At all. Sorry, I tried to resist, but could not. I call him on it, and get the ever-so-mature reply of "get out of here". Sorry, Michigan is not a top 3,4, or 5 team in the country and they've failed to beat the two legit contenders that they've faced this year- I actually came into the thread to post something about the Boise St. game, but when I saw that, my eyes got wide, and my brain turned to mush. I don't think anybody on this forum opts not to post when they disagree (esepecially strongly disagrees) with a thread, why would I start now? Especially when the post that sparked me to post defies all logic.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 Belated reaction: Goddamnit. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted January 2, 2007 I've got to agree with Timothy. You're making a HUGE stretch here, saying UM was 4 points away from being National Champions. The OSU/UM game was not as close as the score appeared. Further more, you now proclaim UM would beat Florida, yet they can't even beat the 2 loss Trojans? Sorry, it just doesn't add up. You gotta admire the kid for his unfaultering loyalty - even as a die-hard Michigan fan myself, I cannot even come close to that kind of homerism.

I wouldn't say that I would bet against the Bucks, but I wouldn't sell the Gators short just yet- they're a much more athletic team than Michigan and the SEC owns the Big 10 as a whole. As evidenced by Wisconsin/Arkansas and Penn State/Tennessee. Anyone notice PSU did NOTICEABLY better against Tennessee than FLORIDA did? That's the same Penn State team that lost 28-6 against OSU, 13-3 against Wisconsin, and 17-10 against Michigan. Honestly, not only will OSU beat Florida...but I get the feeling that Florida would lose to Michigan, USC, or Wisconsin also. The only team in the top five of any poll that I consider Florida capable of beating is LSU...and LSU doesn't belong in the top five of any poll--they're only there because it improved Florida's BCS ranking. mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2007 Has Charlie Weiss won a big game yet in ND? Nope, in fact Weis is 0-7 against teams who finished the season ranked, and 0-2 in bowl games. Weis' biggest victory at ND is probably PSU, Georgia Tech, or a 7-5 Michigan team. Against elite teams (Michigan, USC, LSU, OSU) he has got his butt kicked hard. Comeback win vs MSU and almost win against USC last year are his best coaching performances IMO. What is so special about Brady Quinn?? The media and NFL scouts have annoited him the next Dan Marino.
