Only if they give John L the same deal.....

Yeah, it was a sad day in weasel land when John L was given his walking papers.

What's even worse is, he could have had 2 wins against UM as well. A healthy Drew Stanton in 2004 and a kicking game in 2005 probably would have beaten the Wolverines.

If, If, If....I still think John L is a good coach. He just got in over his head at MSU

UVA dodged the trendy tough matchups like Winthrop, and drew Albany in the first round. I'll take it :D

I like that matchup too. UVA should make it to the sweet 16, but thats about it. Not sure there is a big man to match up Ohio State in that region.

We don't score much from the post, but we've got bodies to put on Oden. Lars Mikalauskas has been able to slow down Tyler Hansbrough and match up fairly well with him, so I don't think Oden will be able to dominate the post. He'll get his points, but he'll have to work for them, and maybe he won't be as efficient as he usually is.

I actually like Texas A&M coming out of that region. They've got great defense and one of the best point guards in the country.

I do as well. Memphis is a weak #2.

My final four is Florida, UCLA, Texas A&M and not sure about the east. North Carolina has a tough road with both Texas and Georgetown in the region...not sure if they are going to make it out of that. Right now I am leaning towards Georgetown making it out.

Hey B-red....I got Virginia beating OSU...is there a chance or is it stupid?

Both. Then again, a lot of upsets happen that rational people would have been stupid to call for. *ahem*GEORGE MASON OVER MSU UNC AND UCONN*ahem*

It's not totally outside the realm of possibility. We'd have to get Oden in foul trouble, but there are only two guys on the team capable of doing that - Singletary, by driving to the hoop, and Jason Cain, because he's nearly as tall as Oden and isn't completely worthless with the ball in the post. Tunji Soroye is also about as tall as Oden, but is on the court purely for defense. And neither can come anywhere close to the 280 pounds Oden lugs around. On the defensive end, doubling up on Oden is the only way we can stop him. That and hacking his arms off, he's better than most centers at the stripe but still not all that reliable.

Frankly, it would be a colossal upset, even though UVA is a #4 seed. Leitao and co. will need to get ahold of some tapes of the Wisconsin game that OSU lost, because somehow, Oden only had six field goal attempts. Whatever they did to deny him the ball is what it will take to beat OSU.

I have Albany beating UVA...and I like Virginia.

I guess I know who isn't winning his pool this year then :P

Seeing MSU get a 9 seed while Michigan goes to the NIT is infuriating given the fact they had comparable seasons.

Seriously...if MSU is worth a 9 seed, Michigan should be good for a freaking 15th or 16th seed as the yahd nearly identical records conference and overall, and were even head to head..

See you are under the misconception that the 15th and 16th seed are the last seeds in the tournament. The last seeds are actually the 9th, 10th, 11th seeds. The reason why they are ranked higher than a 15th or 16th seed is because the #6 Big Ten team is better than then the Horizon or MCC champ.

Keep dreaming. Michigan State beat Wisconsin. Who did Michigan beat???? MSU also had a 24 RPI while Michigan had a 54. Michigan is lucky to be in the NIT.

Michigan beat 5 tourny teams...that has to count for something, but I agree Michigan shouldn't be in the tourny. I wouldn't go as for as saying they were "lucky" to get in the NIT though.

 Take off the yellow and blue glasses.

But then again, your analysis of Florida and Michigan's comparitive football seasons said that beating Central was equal to beating Tennessee, so forgive me if I think you're a little biased.

I didn't say Michigan should have been in OVER MSU.

But how does Winthrop (RPI 70) beat Michigan for the 11th seed in the Midwest?

How does Gonzaga (RPI 61) beat Michigan for the 10th seed in the West?

How does George Washington (RPI 71) beat Michigan for the 11th seed in the East?

How does Stanford (RPI 63) beat Michigan for 11th seed in the South?

Michigan had a comparable record to all of those teams, often better. It had a better RPI. Why do those teams make the tourney, yet Michigan is not even on the list of 30-some other 'considered' teams?

People talk about Syracuse getting snubbed. Syracuse had a similar RPI to Michigan, and a similar record. How is Syracuse a 'huge snub' while Michigan, a comparable team, doesn't even get considered?

By winning their conference.

How does Stanford (RPI 63) beat Michigan for 11th seed in the South?

By having wins against Oregon, UVA, USC, UCLA, and Washington State. Compare that to Michigan who's best wins are Indiana and MSU. And UM has no good road wins.
