arin 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Who's going to be #3 on the shootout lineup now that Williams is gone? Hudler? Bert?
wingsfan40 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 My vote goes to Hudler, that guy has impressed me more then once with his smooth moves.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 dumb question.... i know i have heard this before and i am drawing a blank, but can someone please remind me who rex is? It's Hudler. The name was coined after a Nashville sportswriter who called him Rex by accident (or on purpose ) after the Wings played the Preds earlier in the season. CdnWingsFanEh 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 I voter for Rex (still laugh when I hear the name). He's got some pretty good moves.

HomeNugget 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 hudler is pretty good one on one. after datsyuk and zetterberg i don't think there's any one guy who deserves the third spot. rex will probably get a shot if we have any shoot outs before z comes back.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Whoever is playing good that night. If that's the way it worked, why did Williams go every shootout?
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 If that's the way it worked, why did Williams go every shootout? ZINNNNNNGGGG!! I would figure Rex as well for the usual third spot. But I think someone like Cleary would get a look too.

Rice 42 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Bertuzzi has some moves. It will probably be Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Bertuzzi when everyone is healthy.
Vincanni 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 I'm thinking Bert will get a shot once he's in the line-up but till then they'll use Rex. I'd like to see Babs give Cleary or Flip the nod though. Cleary tore it up in the preseason last year.
grsbmd 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 (edited) I'm pretty sure that Dan Cleary has never not scored on an NHL level shootout try. Edited March 4, 2007 by grsbmd
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 I'm going to pose a question here: Why don't the Wings try using three different guys all together? I mean, Zetterberg and Datsyuk haven't exactly been dynamite on shootouts this year, so what would be the harm in trying someone else? Once everyone is healthy, I'd do Hudler, Cleary, and Bert as a shootout lineup. All three of these guys have decent moves on breakaways, so I think it could be worth a shot trying it. Swimming with the Sharks 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 It's Hudler. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 But I think someone like Cleary would get a look too. It's a lost cause. I've been begging for Dano to get the nod ever since the preseason of '06. But noooo, it was all about Willy. I'm pretty sure that Dan Cleary has never not scored on an NHL level shootout try. Dano was gangbusters in the shootout in that preseason a long time ago... And for the record, he's one for one this season.
Mors 201 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Hudler definitely has the moves to get it done in the shootout.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 The question is, what would the lineup be during Z's absence? Datsyuk, Hudler, and Filppula?
