My GF Wishes I Was Hank 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 Do you guys really think Bert was a good pick up? I mean, sure the conditional aspect of the trade was brilliant, so you really didn't give up anything if he tanks. But do you think the back will hold up. And he's not expected to play till late March, do you think there will be a long adjustment period before he can make an impact? Do you think he might mess up the chemistry at a crucial time? I think the only risk is the possibilty that the back may go bad again. I could care a less how long it takes for him to come back as long as he is hear for playoffs its ok with me. As for him messing up the chemistry, if you have watched any of the games since the nnoucnement of the trade, you can see that the wings are estatic that they have him and clader in detroit. They are starting to play a more physical game so that they are ready to play grittier and more physical when he gets back in the game. The team knew they were soft, and they knew they had to fix it. I think this trade was awesome, and i dont think anything will happen in the chemistry of the team, i thik the chemistry is going to sky rocket thru the roof. And i should know, im a biochem major... haha
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 But do you think the back will hold up. Don't really think anyone knows much about that. Hopefully, "Yes." And he's not expected to play till late March, do you think there will be a long adjustment period before he can make an impact? I'm kind of anticipating the response when he doesn't record consecutive hat tricks after he gets back in the line up. "zomg hollend y do u gt uselss playr gawd" But yeah, I expect it'll take him some time to get in it. If he plays big and physical, though, he's doing a good enough job for this otherwise soft line up. Do you think he might mess up the chemistry at a crucial time? Considering how crap our second line has been (though the current incarnation, Franzen-Lang-Calder has been pretty good), there's no chemistry to mess up. HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 The Force is strong with this one. Bad news, though... *throws Idiom Switch* FADE IN: INT. AMAZONIAN TEMPLE HEROES: I really don't think this is a good idea! BOB: Relax, would you? I've seen this done a hundred times before, it's very simple. You just take the golden idol off the pedestal... BOB slowly lifts the diminutive, glowing statue off it its resting place. He reaches into his utility pouch and reveals a small bag of sand. BOB: ... And then you put this on here in its place. Voila! Couldn't be easier. Now, we can get out of he-- The temple begins to shake beneath their feet. The ceiling starts to crumble as the whole structure sounds as if it could fall apart at any moment. HEROES: Bob... Bob?! BOB [already in the distance]: RUN! The two companions flee the temple into the jungles outside. They are quickly met by the NATIVES, who are very displeased with BOB'S tampering. Behind them, the temple collapses with a tremendous thud. NATIVES: OFF WITH HIS HEAD! OFF WITH HIS HEAD! BOB: Now wait just a moment, here! BOB offers them the return of their idol, but the bloodlust has already set in. NATIVES: OFF WITH HIS HEAD! OFF WITH HIS HEAD! Sensing their doom, BOB knows what he must do to save his companion. He rushes the column of natives, tackling many to ground, but is quickly enveloped by their superior numbers. BOB: Hurry! Run! HEROES: But-- BOB: GO!!! HEROES turns to escape, but not before witnessing the horrible fate rendered unto his life long friend. True to their word, BOB meets his most gruesome demise. HEROES: NOOOOO! Not making BOB'S herioic sacrifice in vain, HEROES leaves the Amazon unscathed, narrowly avoiding the NATIVE'S wrath. INT. THE NEXT DAY, ANSAR KHAN'S WEBLOG ANSAR KHAN: Robert Lang is expected to be out 2-3 weeks with a lower body injury, the team reported today. Eric Himelfarb has been recalled from Grand Rapids. You should write for soap operas! We should make a fake NHL team and write a soap opera about them.

Yes, Bert was a good pickup. Hes EXACTLY the type of player the Wings need and if we dont win it all, theres always next year and weve lost next to nothing. CrazyCanuck 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 Considering that this game has no effect on the Vancouver Canucks, I don't really care who wins. However, I will be watching the game. 4-3 Wings in OT. 3-1 Canucks vs Lightning! =D
Derek 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 Even with all the injuries I am still very excited about this game. I will be there cheering them on. I think that it will be a very unpredictable game because of all the AHL players that are hungry. Every game counts for them. I am also attending the game on the 15th with Nashville and the 26th with Anaheim hopefully most will be back for these two games. 5-4 Wings GO GO GO

What, a shutout doesn't give Ozzie one day's reprieve? Having been a member of this forum for years now, I know the answer to that.

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 (edited) You should write for soap operas! We should make a fake NHL team and write a soap opera about them. That is classic Indy, it is no mere likeness to soap operas. It is man action (/ with a little drama and side-plot romance for you ladies). ROBERT LAND AND THE RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK has the ability to open to rave reviews. Some of the team already have seen previews: Lids: Well y'know I saw it and I thought it was good, but I just kept being nudged by Ozzie and he was saying, "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!?" Lebda: Yeah! This kicked ass. Indy has no fight-strap--I need no fight-strap. I mean, Robert Lang. Sorry Bob! Drapes: Yeah, this film sucked ass. I seriously barfed out my popcorn. Maltby: What he said. Homer: Ehhhhhh, it was good. There wasn't enough fighting though. Write in more fighting. The Detroit Griffins onhand: This is the crap we gotta watch around you suckers? Send my ass back to the AHL pronto. I'm out. Rex: I thought Indiana - er, Bob - was my hero! I love this movie! Is there another coming out? Calder: You Wings are frigging nuts, man, it's some Czech guy replaying a basic Indiana Jones story of adventure and exploration. And some of these guys are eating it up like cake. Instead of pushing sixty+ and trying to put out a movie, they just got some guy who can't act. What the hell's the US coming to. Bert: That guy slacked off all throughout the film. If I were there, I would've just made him get familiar with the top rope on the ravine-spanning bridge myself. In-cre-dible. Hopefully. the Wings take the game way out of Trashville's reach (like 6-0) and he gets to play against the punks they will throw out to try to hurt our key guys and run our goalie (eh, Fartnell and Fruitoo, duh).
