Cicada 4 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 How the friggin hell did the Wings from from 4th to 12th?? 1OT loss and suddenly the end is nigh?
wingschamps 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 i assume its cause all the injuries. thats all they talked about in the little paragraph there so...whatever, doesnt really matter what tsn thinks anyways.
Icer 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Probably has to do with the 15 starters out of the lineup.

hillbillywingsfan 794 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 How the friggin hell did the Wings from from 4th to 12th?? 1OT loss and suddenly the end is nigh? well like a friend of mine just told me after i told him about the rankings..still a good sign when the Griffins are the 12th best team in the NHL. hahaha
Cicada 4 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 guess so.. any team with Darryl Bootland on it really deserves to be in the 25-30 bracket
Vincanni 1 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Alot of teams are hot right now though 12th seems pretty severe a drop for us. Though I see it more as several teams passing us rather then us falling. We did garner 15 points in our last 10 games, and are one win away from the top spot in the league, so it's not far fetched to say these power rankings are a bit bogus. Either way the less lime light we gather going into the playoffs the better, I'll gladly welcome the position of underdog over cup favorite.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 guess so.. any team with Darryl Bootland on it really deserves to be in the 25-30 bracket Is Josh Langfeld any better?
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Injuries weigh significantly into Cullen's formula... They have their place in power rankings, but overall performance ought to be the biggest and most important factor, and the Wings have not disappointed as of late. Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Is Josh Langfeld any better? I second that!
Jwo 7 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I really don't follow power rankings. They are useless like this post I am making.
metalwinger_13 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 i noticed that too that they discussed the injuries, but from what the paragraphs talked about was more of what they did on trade deadline day then anything.. atleast to me. but i dont follow them just neat to look to see where we supposedly "rank" in the league. oh well .. im think its more what they did on trade deadline day then anything. Ozzie30 170 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 ... We did garner 15 points in our last 10 games... And that's the third most in the same span (Canucks =17 and Islanders=16)
cincywingfan 1 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) Is Josh Langfeld any better? No, but I don't think that says anything. Edited March 9, 2007 by cincywingfan
akustyk 84 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) I don't care about rankings. those at TSN are not bad, but they're pretty "generous" to Canadian teams, so to say. I could see Oilers before Wings now at TSN, so go figure! my second impression is that they're not exactly pro-Wings. even on a night with just 2 games where the Wings play some outstanding hockey they always, always pick the other game to put as headline. speaking of injuries.... I'd say right now Buffalo and to some extent Preds aren't exactly in much better shape in this department than Wings. Edited March 9, 2007 by akustyk
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 No, but I don't think that says anything. I stated that because the guy said any team that has Bootland should be in one of the last spots. I personally think this is a pathetic claim, considering that Bootland is probably a better player than Langfeld. Bootland, at least, brings toughness to the lineup. Langfeld brings nothing. That's what I was getting at.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 9, 2007 How the friggin hell did the Wings from from 4th to 12th?? 1OT loss and suddenly the end is nigh? TSN power rankings are utterly irrelevant and meaningless. Kara Yorio probably inputs a lot. i assume its cause all the injuries. thats all they talked about in the little paragraph there so...whatever, doesnt really matter what tsn thinks anyways. Nashville, meanwhile, is in the top 5. TSN power rankings have always hated Detroit.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Nashville, meanwhile, is in the top 5. TSN power rankings have always hated Detroit. That's because TSN is canadian biased, and the Wings don't have that many canadians on the team anymore. I'm sure Don Cherry has an imput too, considering how much he hates the Wings this year. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Christ...you guys complain about these rankings like its the BCS! Really..who cares, its completely meaningless. Until Bettman starts taking power ratings and using them to decide the playoff seeding rather than the standings stop whining about it. (uh oh i hope Bettman doesnt read this)

Legionnaire11 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 I also wondered how injuries could drop the Wings so low, but not affect the Preds? TSN is very canadian biased, but it should be. It's a major media outlet and has to cater to it's audience. Even if all 6 canadian teams were the worst 6 teams in the league, they would still be the most important story to 90% of canadian hockey fans.
