HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Kp Kp Kp....lets not get carried away with the Lilja love! If memory serves me correct, he only threw 2 punches didnt he? One looked to have grazed Moen...but after that it was all Moen with Lilja bailing while taking some rights. No way does he get the nod. Come on Jeff..no way Moen beat Lilja. And Lills didn't get the best of Moen either. If anything it was a draw. Lilja got the upperhand in the beginning but then he tripped and Moen took over at the end. That it was I call a draw! You at least gotta admit the Wings played a really tough, gritty game tonight. Right? Everyone makes the Ducks out to be the toughest team in the league and if today's game is any idication of how tough these guys are then they don't scare me at all. I mean I know it's just ONE game but the way the Wings played tonight showed me that IF they play physical they have a great chance of winning and going far. Anywho, great game by the Wings tonight! Full 60 minutes! Great goaltending, and a great all around job by anyone. BTW..am I the only one that thought Kronner had a really good game? I don't think he was awful at all. Probably the best game he's had in the last month. Dats is amazing as usual. Rex is the man. Franzen is a physical force. Yeah I just said that..because he is. Awesome game tonight! GO WINGS!!!!!!! One looked to have grazed Moen...but after that it was all Moen with Lilja bailing while taking some rights. No way does he get the nod. No, he got at least 3 decent shots in. At least that's what I thought. Come on Lou, he dropped the gloves. He should have won your respect, no? Or is it a little harder than that?

They definitely played a good game tonight, no denying that. But, being able to match the Ducks physical intensity over a playoff series is entirely a different story...its just a matter of personnel. I dont wanna come in here as a downer cause it was a nice game....thats just my opinion though! However as for Lilja/Moen, that wasnt a slip...it was a "slip"... if you get my drift! He threw his couple shots and as soon as he got hit he had enough and went down....which he gets deducted for. Moen continued landing shots while Lilja just tried to grab his legs. Im being really impartial and not anti-Lilja, i think you'll basically find everybody giving Moen the win.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 lets see if dats can step it up like this in the post season. I think the bert/calder additions will help dats most of all. this way opposition players need to be looking over their shoulders if they try to take hank or dats out. Or is it a little harder than that? I gave him his props for a nice attempt in the other thread! He definitely didnt get 3 in....he threw the 2 right at the start with one of them maybe getting in. But with the way it went after that...it was all Moen.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 (edited) I don't know why everyone complains about the empty seats to start the game. Not too many people show up for the start of the game, but the Joe is filled up by at least the 2nd period. Go http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...5/70326057/1053 and enlarge the pictue. Filled up. Good game, good job by Dom. I thought he was gonna get screwed 'cause the announcers were talking about his last you know what with like 3 minutes left Edited March 27, 2007 by Hockeytown0001
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Lou is definitely right, Lilja got in the first shot but was on the ropes from there on out. Point was it fired up the crowd and the team. First was pretty even, Anaheim even had a slight edge, but it was all Wings after that. Just shows ya what a little rough-housing will do.

I think the bert/calder additions will help dats most of all. this way opposition players need to be looking over their shoulders if they try to take hank or dats out. that, i think should be one of the bigger arguments for keeping bert up with dats when z is back (in homer's stead). he can give dat's and z room to work like no other on our team. add to that a great set of hands and muscle and speed and the ability to hold his own in the crease and you have an all around upgrade to homer. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 I give Moen the win in the fight, but the important thing is the Wings didn't take any sh** in this game, and even seemed to be the aggressor. I'm with Lou, I'm not sure it would be enough in a best of 7 series against Anaheim, but it was pretty damn good for one night. Schneider and Samuelsson were really getting into the scrum, and that was Anaheim's captain (Niedermayer) who was getting the worst of it. After the fight, the Ducks seemed to stop trying to push the Wings around. It's incredible what a little bit of sticking up for yourselves can do for a change. Maybe Babcock gave 'em the "Piss on Eddie Shore!" speech tonight. They came out ready to mix it up and play 60 minutes.

My reaction to that fight reminded me of Cross/Ott last season. I was caught so off guard by it and in such total shock for a few seconds i couldnt register in my head who was fighting who. Im like oh s*** who the hell are these guys! #32 is that Brad May?!!!!

I think I got SO excited because I never seen Lils fight and it was just perfect timing to spark them up! It makes a huge difference and it was great seeing the Wings play so physical and just seeing the impact it makes. But I will still everytime pick the Wings over the Ducks. *if they play like they did tonight*

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Awesome! Did you get yourself a sweet towel?! lol how was the crowd tonight? Yes. Got one. Tried to get 2 but a kid eyed the one I was going to get. Not going to take a towel from a kid. Crowd was loud in spurts. Loud in the beginning to honor Chelios. Also loud during the Lilja fight and the Datsyuk goal. The intensity was just like a playoff game in the arena. I bet Timothy1997 is having a blast! Yes I was!

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 On the Lilja fight. I give props to Lilja for fighting but Moen won that fight. Lilja got a great first punch in but it was all downhill from there. I love how lilja was holding on to Moen's leg begging not to beat him up to a bloody pulp. Does anyone know what started the whole thing. It looked like a simple scrum at the end of the 1st period and then next thing I know, Lilja is challenging Moen.

Right after the horn went for the first period to end, Niedermayer laid a late hit on Calder which pissed Schneider right the hell off which sparked the big scrum. Sammy got into, Schneids got into, and then Moen and Lilja somehow found each other and fought! lol
