If the cap goes up and we dont re-sign schneider ... we shouldnt have any problemes signging calder markov and bertuzzi ... i think bertuzzi and calder will take a lil pay cut ... and markov will sign around the same contract his around ...

i really feel that pav will show up this year. this is a great move. this shows that pav is committed to stay in Detroit and that will make everyone else at ease and loose going into the playoffs. I am really pleased by this

Who else thinks that right about now Zetterberg is kicking himself and contemplating firing his agent?

Talk about a payday that HE could've gotten with a shorter deal.

Datsyuk gets 7 mil , When Z's contract is up hes gonna want at least 10 million.

So, it sounds as if the Cap is going up 2-3 mill. I think this deal will pan out great.

Datsyuk is turning into a complete player, and with the right line mates, I am excited.

Presser...

Holland:

"Here today to announce that we have signed Datsyuk to a 7-year contract... We think Pavel's coming into the prime of his career... We feel he has turned into one of the best two-way centers in the NHL... I'd like to thank his agent, we've worked long and hard on this contract that started in training camp...

... Any time you put together a 7-year contract in a cap world it's very difficult...

... Very very exciting day for the Red Wings..."
