HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 You know what. I REALLY hope Bab does take these quotes and post 'em somewhere. I know the Wings did something similar to that when Vokoun was yapping. This oughta get them going. Notice how the Wings NEVER talk smack? It's called class. kylee 727 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Let them talk all that they want. Wont that make it more embarassing if they lose the series? Huselius should accomplish something in his career before he talks smack about a hall of famer. And Kipper is Glacial? If glacial means having no cups, and frenetic means one cup in two finals appearances, then that is correct. The old "Flimsy division" excuse? Det- 2-2 Nsh- 1-3 CBJ- 2-2 Chi- 2-2 Stl- 4-0 11-9...looks like the only team they handled with ease was St.Louis, and that was the "pre-andy murray" Blues. 7-9 without the Blues which apparently easy pickings before the coaching switch. So how did they do in the "flimsy" central? Flimsy. Lame. They should shut their mouths and worry about playing a series. hey hockeycrazy, you should go post that on their boards so the goons would shut up. everyone should go sign up to the flames message board and read about how SO many of the people posting there are just writing Hasek off as some AHL chump. man o man i hope they are in for a nice surprise. Nah. It's not a good idea to stir up stuff on other teams' boards. They are going to stick up for their team just like we are doing now for ours. Plus..they are actually pretty nice over there. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 lmao made him flop alright. if he saved that puck, which might i add 9 times out of 10 he would've on that shot, that wasn't far from hitting him, i wonder if it would've been forsberg who would've made him save it, too? like c'mon. where did this team get this arrogance from? this is like watching a kid get to a certain age, and get this outwardly cocky attitude until he gets smacked the f*** around, and quiets down. I just found the article "Langkow laughed and replied , I saw the goal , it wasent as bad as i thought , its nice that Tangs thinks I could do that , but I dont need that much space" He Laughed. Over confident ...
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 it happens. wings fans barely know their own goalie. how are flames fans going to do it, especially considering for most of them the nhl started in 2004. and i live here, i have to hear it all the time. they're jut so illogical and uneducated about anyone other than the flames. and not to mention the newspapers here, oh man what a s*** show This really suprises me, considering the Flames are a Canadian team. And in Canada, most people are usually born with a pretty keen knowledge of hockey in general.

WingFanInStarLand 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 I was reading the sports section of the paper today and Tangauy was talking about the Wings with Hasek and how he knew from the 02 series. He said something along the lines of "Watch how forsberg made him flop on the Game winning goal , Langks can do that too , it isnt that hard" Hah , sure Alex , can you tell me what your +/- was when that series was over and how many points you got agaisnt the "Flopper" Notice the wings talking no smack , the Flames = over confident , I hope we embarres them and then there known as the "Cant get out of the first round team" Does anybody else find it funny that Tanguay is mocking Hasek based on a series where Dom shutout Alex's team in the last two games of the series?? Seriously... If Hasek's play in that series constituted "flopping" , and he repeats that performance in this series, Alex and Crew will have a nice laugh about Dom's antics on the 1st Green

BiffFromCP 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) For what its worth, there's a difference between respecting a players past accomplishments and wondering if he is still up to the same standard. Flames fans, in my experience, aren't dissing Dom's stellar career and exemplary achievements (who could?) but we are hoping, and maybe expecting, that at 42 he may have lost a step or two. Some of us do think age may be a factor in this series....I don't think it means we think all of the Wings vets are garbage. We did, however, think Hatcher was garbage. Guest Tunbo Batman Report post Posted April 11, 2007 underachieving teams always act overconfident. they are just so desperate for any kind of success really. and again, canadian hockey fans are way overrated, they are ignorant and jump on and off bandwagons as quickly as anyone. and that "weak central" division thingy? man, that is beyond beating a dead horse, thats beating horse bone powder. WE FINISHED FIRST OVERALL OKAY? YOU CANT DO THAT ONLY WITH WINS AGAINST WEAK TEAMS. plus, calgary really needed those refs during the last stretch of the season, or they wouldnt even be IN. Losers. Hmmm....well at least our playoff games are sold out. Bandwagoners? Yup....we've got 'em. So do the wings. All Canadian hockey fans are overrated, ignorant and bandwagon juumpers? Generalize much? Our regular season record may make us under-achievers but I'm not sure you should be crowing over the incredible post-season achievements your successive conference / league regular season titles have earned you. I guess this is why we'll go ahead and play the games over the next couple of weeks.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Players talk. This is nothing new in the wide world of sports. I hope if this happens we STAND UP and do something aboot it!!!!! Let's go Red Wings! If they run our goaltender, the refs don't call it because of Hasek's rep, and it causes a discernible difference in the outcome of the game, there is only one solution I can think of; switch goalies. The Wings are one of the few teams in the league that has two goaltenders capable of starting and performing well.
Covenant 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Ahh... it's all good folks, good natured trash talk.. it'll only get worse today. I was perusing www.calgaryherald.com for some local sports talk, and the thing that cracks me up the most-- the place where they're getting all this Hasek stuff is the forgettable "flop" that last game in Calgary. They will not stop talking about it - whatever, doesn't matter now.
shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 This just makes me angry. Who the hell do these guys think they are? Yes a couple of years ago they got the best of us. This is a new year and we are not the same team. We are a better, faster, stronger, tougher and younger team that still has guys who konws what it takes to win the cup. IMO, Hasek only plays better this time of the year. I think that he has gotten better as the season has gone on and he will be ready to play and will be at the top of his game. I can't wait for game one to be played. Detroit will be on fire. They will protect home ice advantage and will play a tough seris. Calder will be all over the place hitting. Markov will get under the skin of Jerome. Homer will drive Kipper crazy and get some nice tip in goals. Dats is going to go out there and skate circles around those guys. He is going to show why we gave him that big contract and prove his worth in the playoffs. Ok i'm going to stop for now and try to relax. I could go on forever on how i see game one going. I hope that the comments the Fags had will motivate this team. I hope that Chelios heard what Hull had to say and proves to him and Cherry that they don't know what they are talking about. Kick their buts boys!!!!!! Am I the only one feeling like they're gonna run our goalie, b/c a. it's worked in the past b. they feel it'll work versue Hasek's temper c. that Hasek may not get the call b/c of his rep. for diving? I hope if this happens we STAND UP and do something aboot it!!!!! If they run him then we better have his back and beat the tar out of who ever did it. Lillja could earn some respect from me if he were to drop the gloves and use his size and strength to his advantage and try to intimidate those Flammers. Just drop the puck allready and lets get it on!!!!!
TheLegend19 1 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Honestly, I don't blame them for their smack talk. We have a lot to prove this year. We got our ass' handed to us by them in '04, and didn't exactly do much against Edmonton last year.
cowtown_Wingnut 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 that's nice. don't blame the economy or the fact that calgary's the fastest growing city in the world. besides......WHO CARES?! i dunno, maybe i missed something, but this is n't what i said, i know that. i live here, and in this city, it's full to the brim with bandwagon jumpers. i witnessed it, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, first hand with my oen eyes from the heart of it all. I'm in Calgary too, and people are driving me nuts - all the talk is of '04.....2006 anyone? Early exit? People here go to the games cause it is "cool" to be seen there....only 1300 tickets for each game are available to buy, please, tell me how many real hockey fans will be there.
