puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Are you serious? That is the worst thing I have ever seen. ditto. If anyone finds out why Marchant got the star, let me know...
Guest jaytan Report post Posted May 16, 2007 We cannot let up in game 4. They're going to be pissed we walked all over them at home. I predict the next game will be the toughest yet. Exacfly. Either they'll be demoralized or reeeally pissed. We need to ride this and take game four. This series isn't over at all.
texdude2006 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 great game...i actually got to watch it too! We're undefeated this season when I watch a game! Greater news is that i'll be able to watch the rest of the games, so hopefully this trend will continue.
redwingsgirl 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Just saw the Homer/Pronger crash again on slow-motion and Homer's helmet FLEW off! I have one of his game used helmets (and yes, I put it on when I got it) and it is very small. I'm surprised at how quickly it comes off!
GiantRobot 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 The red wings did play at full power, but if the ducks played at full power, it wouldnt be close to 5-0. The ducks played possibly the worst game since a dallas game in 98. Embarrassing The Wings didnt allow them to play their best game. That is a plain and simple fact. Anaheim should be thanking their lucky stars that this series is 3-0 right now...
Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I couldn't help but notice in periods 2 and 3, the Ducks were in the penalty box too much. You'd think after like the 5th or 6th penalty in that small of a time period, the Ducks would be like, "ok... abandon this stlye of play. this isn't working." If I am their coach, i'm ripping into them for the next two days on being a bit more disciplined. I don't really know if he enforced that style of play or not, but getting that many penalties doesn't help you win games

Duckboy6 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Because the Wings took it to them. The Ducks got worse and worse because the Wings were actually on their game. ducks were off their game from about the 2nd shift in the game. ducks didnt show up in the first place. Red wings outhustled, outsmarted, outcoached, and flat out out played ducks tonight in every area
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Should be no surprise that a Duck got the third star. 3 stars are always decided by a member of the local media, so they're gonna throw one of their guys a bone.
dicksmack 33 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I still say the Wings should have rested Holmstrom and pushed for Pronger's head on a platter, beat them next game and eliminate them at home. Bad sportsmanship? That's how the bar has been set...
Offsides 21 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 It should be 1 Homer 2 Dom 3 Lidstrom 4 Filppula 27 Teddy Ruxpin 28 Chris Osgood 36 Todd frikken Marchant. I guess they're rewarding him for that killer playoff beard. Personally I thought Ozzie was better than Teddy Ruxpin

adtthosa 5 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Wow, great game from start to finish. First of all, I'd like to mention that I hate Chris Pronger so much and I'm happy that he has to eat his words now. I'd love to see him get suspended but realistically know that will probably not happen. But I'm very glad Homer's okay. Second, I really liked Kopecky filling in for Calder. Yeah he took those two penalties in the first but he played with an edge and he was doing the things we wanted Calder to do when we got him. As long as he can keep his turnovers to a minimum I'd love to see him stay in the lineup. Third, great coaching by Babcock. To completely split up our lines and to have it work out so well is awesome. I've always been a big fan of Babcock. You can just tell that he knows what he's doing when you watch him in an interview. As for the other players, there weren't too many of them that I can say didn't play well today. Bertuzzi really stepped it up today, I thought, and not just because of the goal that went in off his foot. I definately smiled at a few of his big hits. Cleary had another great game, as did Lidstrom. Holmstrom was unbelievable today, it was probably his strongest of the playoffs. Filppula was awesome as well, I was glad to see him get a goal at the end there. Hasek, well, it goes without saying. He was big when he had to be, and it was good to see him pick up another shutout. He really has been unbelievable for us. This one definately makes up for the disappointment of game 2. It's nice to go into game 4 now knowing that if we don't win, the world isn't going to end. With that said, I hope we can bring the same game that we brought tonight on Thursday. I'm definately looking forward to it.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Wow! What an absolutely amazing game by every guy in a Red Wings uniform. Plus big props to Babcock for a brilliant coaching job. Way to go guys!

Jwo 7 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I did not know the Ducks had such a strong Dutch following (Reference to the orange in the crowed ) Hasek played great, Homer played awesome and the rest of the Wings were just magnificent. I was happy that we sent jizzer out of net.

Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Great game Red Wings I always hated Pronger but in a respectful sort of way. It was more of a hatred that he was in our path then anything else. But that hit on Homer still pisses me off. Once I heard he walked down on his own, I knew he would be okay -- seeing as how I've broken my neck playing hockey and have had 2 concussions as well - so when you're walking on your own after a hit, you're usually fine. But I was sitting in my living room just wanting to take a run at Pronger. Sure hes 8 inches taller then me but I'll take my chances.
SuperCalaFilppulastic! 34 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I wish all games were this stress-less for me. I like cushioned leads. A lot. Anyway, we really showed up to play tonight. If we can steal a second game in Anaheim - I will do cartwheels down my street while juggling flaming torches. Also, seeing John Cusack rooting for the Ducks (I assume) makes me sad. Vladiator 116 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Well I hope one of the two gets a game suspension for the hit on Homer. I'm still concerned about the power play as we netted only one goal on all that power time we had. Very glad Homer is alright. Kopecky played pretty well for the lack of game time he has had. His timing seemed to very good for a guy who hasn't played for quite some time. I think he will be playing in the next game. Flips played an incredible game. Should have been the first star. Dom was Dom. He does not like to lose and when he does, watch out, he will not make many mistakes. GO WINGS!!!
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I can't believe the Wings won a game by multiple goals in this series, let alone a 5-0 win. Very impressive. Let's get game 4 now, guys!
Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Dom was Dom. He does not like to lose and when he does, watch out, he will not make many mistakes. True that. Its amazing how Dom can just shut the door when he wants to, especially after an overtime loss. I'm having flashbacks of 2002 after Drury scored in game 5 OT then they never scored again -- and of course, Game 1 of the Finals, where Hasek then won us four straight, including the amazing triple OT game. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Granted, hes played 1 more game, but Lidstrom is 2nd in scoring with 17 points in 15 games. If you noticed on the PP, the Wings had to give regular shifts to their 3 and 4 lines, and that entire 5 minute major didnt feature Homer at all. The PP guys get tired with all that PP time. I wouldnt worry too much about it. The Wings came through on the PP when they were energized and had their complete units in the 1st period.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 16, 2007 The Wings played, in every way, a perfect game. For the first time, I don't know if anyone can realistically complain about anything.
