Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 10, 2007 That one handed swing thing sounds cool as hell. That'd be pretty bad ass to pull out as a hockey pro at a charity ball game! "Fire on Ice", however, still sounds like a figure skating roadshow.

Well, you could trick the Swedish kids and say it was a charity "football" game, then advertise it to their American opponents as a football game and watch the hilarious antics ensue... Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 "Fire on Ice", however, still sounds like a figure skating roadshow. ...and apparently, it's a ripoff of the old Calgary Flames montra from a few years ago. I do believe they used the same line. It's so nice to see the Wings organization thinking outside the box for a change. By that I mean using recycled lines for nothing. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 I was blaring Paramore on my car stereo and then the boys at 89X decided it would be a great time to insert a little "fire on ice" advertisment... Embarassing to be caught dead listening to such nonsense I was on the bike today in conditioning class, and the radio was on 89x and I heard the exact same ad. I GOT EXCITED!! They were all 'See Nicklas Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, Niklas Kronwall..etc. fire on ice!"
StaticWithABeat 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 (edited) Somehow I'm not surprised Lilja uses the one-handed bear claw maneuver for batting...he probably uses a similar method for fighting off mastodons who come near his cave during the offseason. He takes part in every wings event, plays in the charity softball game and the man is like 70. hahahahaha, at Kronwall for forgetting to tag out one of the firefighters. I dont know why it's funny, maybe because it's Kronwall, I dunno.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 i don;t blame Kronwall.. Baseball makes no sense to us Europeans.. i mean WTF is the infield fly rule...i just don;t get it If there is a runner on first, and the batter hits a fly ball that stays within the infield, the batter is out. Otherwise, can you get into one of two situations; the runner at first advances, and the ball is caught, meaning the runner has to tag up at first base before the fielders get the ball there. The second is that the runner does NOT advance, and the ball is not caught, meaning the runner will be forced out at second base. The infield fly rule is designed to prevent fielders from exploiting the second situation and attempting to turn it into a double play.

HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 Mickey Redmond never ceases to amaze me. He takes part in every wings event, plays in the charity softball game and the man is like 70. And he was at practice with them all of last week. He's skating, scoring, making good passes and giving it his all as if he was a young body out there. He's pretty much amazing. Great for him to be that way at his age.

StaticWithABeat 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2007 I bet Maltby is really good at the "hit and run"....he's already the master of that in hockey! heheh...Maltby hits the other team's best batter in the head with a pitch, McCarty dives out of the stands to fight the guy as he charges the mound, then Draper comes on to kill off the ensuing penalty...see, hockey and baseball are basically the same sport.
