How am I overreacting? He's always been horrible. I have always complained about him, and with good reason. I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way, as I've seen many other posts in this thread saying how Samuelsson sucks/shouldn't be out there in OT/turns the puck over too much. It's not a requirement to like every player on the team.

It sucks the Wings lost, but having all the people who incessantly ripped on Lang having to choke on that goal is worth it.

I actually came on here to tell you guys great game, and then I read all this crap.

All what crap? I'd say there isn't a soul in the hockey world - fans, media, players, coaches, GMs, scouts, and all the rest - who think the Wings won't make the playoffs. Surely you think the Wings will probably make the playoffs. There's no reason not to believe that. So why should Wings fans pretend like we don't believe it'll happen?

Seriously, I very much appreciate a rational Central division fan coming over and... being rational. Aside from the extreme reactions, Harold's right: Detroit fans don't expect to lose to Chicago.

I'm not saying you're required to to like every player on the team. However, I *am* saying it's only the second game of the season...maybe we could blame players for single-handedly losing games later. As shocked as I am to say it, we're not going to win 82 games this year.

And just for the record im not saying the Blackhawks are going to be all of that, I really dont know, but I do think they are going to surprise a few people this year. Just by watching these first two games I can tell this team is different. Not Stanley Cup good, but I think they are going to have a solid season.

i agree.

if Khabibulin can play solid like he has early on, the blackhawks i think, will be a team that is in fringe of the playoffs fighting for a spot. they DO look different, but in order to make a serious run, they need havlat to be healthy and productive.

I sure hope so! It'd be great for the fans and the league if the Blackhawks have a good season. Here's hoping for more close Wings vs Blackhawks games!

The Blackhawks deserved that win. They played amazing well, and I would actually like to say congrats to you and your team. We can tell just by watching tonights game that Kane is going to be something amazing. You gotta admit the hawks haven't been so good in the past, and from past standings, people do get cocky. We were looking for a win tonight, we were more upset that our team took an early lead and gave it away, than we were about the hawks stepping up the game and taking the win. People were giving credit to Kane and Lang for their goals. To be honest with you if this is only a preview of things to come, i'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Its about time the games start becoming interesting especially when we're playing each other 8 times a season.

He actually came over to give us a charitable "great game guys", but then got soured by reading the board reactions to the Hawks taking one from us. I believe it.

Can't say I agree with being shocked that Wings fans are reacting badly, but when you've seen enough rabid Central div fans mindlessly saying "Wings suck"/"Dead Things blow" and any other choice in the endless litany...

A fan that will try to act normal is something fresh.

The ref blew his whistle at the same time dats took his shot and being blind he didn't see the puck already in mid air (Although he was right in front of it....) So since he didn't see the shot take place at the time of blowing his whistle, no goal.

It was a joke. I do, in fact, think that losing to Chicago is embarrassing, but one game never tells a season. We lost to the Blackhawks last year, too.

Actually, we probably would have won had we gotten that goal. The play proceeded in a whole different direction which ultimately lead to the tying goal - if I recall correctly.

What's the big deal with our former players scoring against us? They do not play for us anymore, it is their job to score against us. I'd be more concerned if our current roster was scoring against us. We know that is possible.

If the ref was standing right behind the net, instead of off to the left his view of the puck would have been a better view because there wasn't as many bodies in the way. So I hope we would of, but they also did an audio check to see if the connection between the stick and the puck could be heard before the whistle and it was indecisive as well. So I think Dats literally took the shot at the exact time of the whistle being blown.
