Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 It may be very pre-mature, but Daymond Langkow could get 50, if not, he'll probably get 40. If Alfie can get 100 points riding shotgun with Spezza and Heatley, I'd imagine Datsyuk could get 100 with Z and Homer.

And for 100 point getters....Paul Stastny should definitely be on that list.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Langkow is a dick... If any Wing fan appreciates Langkow after that shot on Lebda, well I don't know, but he's a dickhead.

Um, appreciating Langkow is one thing. Not being a homer and saying that he has a good chance to be a 40-50 goal scorer this year is another.

datsyuk_13_fan 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 For this year? I'd be pretty surprised if Kopitar and Stastny got 100+ points..I think both will get around 85-95. In the future I can see them putting up 100ish points.

I don't think the Wings will have two 100 point players. Jagr will not have 100. Ovechkin probably will not. Kopitar wont. Briere and Spezza have a shot. Stall, Ovechkin, and Iginla will probably not have 50 goals. Zata has a shot but I think he will slow down; at this point, it would be hard for him to NOT get 100 points, as long as that line stays healthy. Spezza, Alfie, Dats, Kopitar, Briere, and Jags don't hit 50 goals, but 100 points? I don't think any two Staal brothers combine for 50 goals this season. Even if Eric somehow does that, he doesn't get 50 helpers? He has never, in his professional career, had more goals than assists. Vinny, well, how does he not get 100 points this year? Iggy is a stretch for 50 goal, I think 100 points is also quite a leap for him. I just can't see Spezza netting more than 30-35 goals, so he'd have to get 65-70 assists. Even with Heatly and Alfie on his line, that's tough. He had a career year in assists last season with 53. Pav, I see in the same boat as Spezza. Although, I see Pav netting 25-30, which would leave 70-75 helpers. I just can't see that happening. Kopitar, seriously? L.A. doesn't have the offensive weapons to help Kopitar get 100 points. I'd say 80 points would be a terrific season for this kid. Briere, he couldn't hit 100 with the lineup Buffalo had. The Flyers are nowhere near as threatening offensively as Buffalo was last season. 80 points would be respectable for him. Jagr, well, I think he can hit 50 goals and 100 points easily this year. Finally, I don't see Z hitting 100 points either. He has is good for missing about 10-15 games with various injuries. I think that is what will hold him from reaching 100. I think I have a rebuttle to almost every comment, but I'll limit to just a few? You think you can't score 50 goals without getting 100pts? I won't bother listing the examples of who has done it (some multiple times) as it would lengthy. You think you can't get 100pts without getting 50 goals? (this list is way longer than the 50 goals without 100pts list) Am I reading correctly, you don't think Eric and Jordan Staal can combine for 50 goals? Vinny had 108 pts last year, his previous high was 75, not completely unrealistic to think he may not get 100, but I think he will. Spezza....if healthy, he should get 100. He had 87 in 67 games last year (pace for 106), he had 90 in 68 the year before (pace for 109) and he is on pace for 108 this year. He is no guarantee for sure, but if he plays all the games, I think he has a good chance. Jagr...50 goals and 100pts easy? He only had 30 goals and 96 points last year. He is now a year older and he is currently on pace for 12 goals and 94 points. Not saying he won't do it, but to suggest he will do it "easily" is a stretch in my opinion. If you notice, I didn't argue all every player who was on one list should be on the other. Just that the guys who I thought should be on one or the other. I was being sarcastic about the Staal brothers, guess I should have laid that on a little more thick. I'll bunch the last three together. Using your measuring stick of current PPG, Vinny should get 109. But I beg to ask, who cares about PPG average right now?! I hate when people say that. "Well John, after 3 games, Johnson has 6 home runs, at that pace he will hit 324 this year!" No one stays hot all year long. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just not likely. And Jagr getting 50/50? I think it will happen. Once the right chemistry is found with his new ceterman, things should take off.
