datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 wings didn't deserve the w, but glad they got it. osgood was by far our best player. the boys will be back on track next game.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I wouldn't say he stole the game, because Ellis played on par. Made terrific, and timely saves tho! I don't think you were watching the same game.
J-Swift 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Ozzie was the only one who really looked fresh tonight. Great game by him. I didn't honestly think we were gonna get our third win in four nights in Nashville's building, but it's nice to see we're still capable of beating teams in the Central division. Even if we maybe didn't deserve it.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) LOL I just heard him say it on the post game show. What a dumbass. The preds announcers are canadians, right? That's how they say it on CBC too. Edited December 11, 2007 by haroldsnepsts

I would argue the first period and that might be it. Or at least until that goal went in which has about what, half way through the second? Not sure. But I'm still trying to figure out how exactly that went in.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Well I just came online to find out the Wings played today. Top work by me there, didn't even know the Wings were playing today. But great to see we got another win, with Osgood playing brilliant yet again and Flip continuing his point streak.

Offsides 21 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I missed this game...so you can say I equal opportunity missed Hasek's game and Osgood's. No discrimination there. I wish I would have seen it. I am glad we got the win and don't have much to say other than that ... haha.
revnic 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 The preds announcers are canadians, right? That's how they say it on CBC too. Yes because all Canadians say it that way. It must be true....a CBC announcer does it!
interminded 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I am happy Ozzie hasn't lost his edge after sitting out a couple of games ! Ozzie is still the number one goalie in the NHL !! Eat that, Lundqvist !
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) Yes because all Canadians say it that way. It must be true....a CBC announcer does it! It was a joke jackass. do I need to go back and put a smiley face next to it? my main point was that it's stupid to make fun of Preds announcers for saying "Detroy-it" when I heard it that way on Hockey Night in Canada for years watching hockey growing up. Because the Preds announcers say it that way doesn't make them stupid, or rednecks, or whatever the original implication was. sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 i believe there were 3 keys to victory for the wings tonight: 1)OsGOOD 2)OsGREAT 3)OsGOD they deserved to LOSE this one. to come out with 2 points is a gift they should cherish. they were all but walked over in the second and third. OZZIE=WALL. end of discussion.
JROLLA 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I really don't like saying that being tired is a reason for bad play, so I won't. But it doesn't make any sense why the Wings would lie back like that tonight. They had leads in previous games and never let up. In any sport, no matter what, it is never okay to sit back and play not to lose. Well I will say it for you then. Back to back games with traveling can cause a team to serve up a lack luster performance. You see it in every sport. God Bless Ozzie!

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Some of you stated a few weeks ago that Ozzie has played really good, but hasn't stolen a game for the Wings yet. This game was won because of Oz tonight. That's a fact! GO OZZIE!!!!! 14 & 1 baby!!! He is playing some unbelievable hockey. The last minute 3 huge saves! GET THIS MAN IN THE ALL STAR GAME! QFT The Wings looked like a team that played and traveled the night before, and if not for Ozzie that game would've been around 5-2 in favor of Nashville. The first 10 minutes and the entire final period very much showed the Wings were the more tired team. to you Ozzie! Another phenomenal performance.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Flippula's penalty shot goal was amazing. He probably would've used the same move had he not been tripped. It was a great shot, and I firmly believe Filppula caught the fact that Ellis wasn't backing up quick enough, thus making his move look quite simple. Filppula didn't even look like he flinched in putting that puck past Ellis and with how far out Ellis was when Filp released the shot, it was a shoe-in.
