winsgnut_19 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 Has anything been mentioned about contract talks? Could his back issues be a turn off for a long extention? Holland has been saying he has some tough decisions to make... hopefully they have nothing to do with Z.
Valtteri Filppula 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) Um, I'm pretty sure you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be signed to a long term deal... Edited January 29, 2008 by Valtteri Filppula
Rice 42 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 The only thing mentioned about his contract talks is that they can't begin until July 1st. Zetterberg won't be traded. Thornton overcame his back issues, so can Zetterberg.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 While technically there is always a chance, REALISTICALLY I'm going to say there's not a snowball's chance in hell this would ever happen, at least anytime in the near future.

Holland has been saying he has some tough decisions to make... hopefully they have nothing to do with Z. You mean because there are not enough of his country men on the team? Because he has no set up guy to give him good passes? Because the team has no goalie? Would like to play with some older, more experienced guys? The front office is always on his case? No defense on the team? Not enough scoring on the team? Wants to play for a team that has more tradition? Yeah, I guess a case could be made that he would demand a trade. You're absolutely right that normally franchise players aren't traded. It only takes just one really stupid GM though.
