puckbags 863 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 and we have to the Ducks now on a back to back. Well I guess that'll be one more 3 game losing streak for this season. WTF are you talking about? we are the best team in the league and there is absolutely no reason we shouldn't beat the Ducks at home tommorrow. I swear sometimes we need a psychiatric ward on this forum. We are so spoiled around here and its quite pathetic to hear someone who calls him/herself a fan throwing in the towel for a game we haven't even played yet!! FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 that sucked. Two bad losses by the Wings. These games weren't exactly gimme's, but come on. Between the Kings and Toronto, they should be able to beat one of these teams in regulation. ugh. QFT Law of Averages (Detroit Addendum): We Lose 2 Games = 3rd one's the charm = You better be watching NBC tomorrow, Wings fans.... I HEREBY PROCLAIM. WINGS 7 (Z Hat Trick, Raffy, Huds, Homer, Lids) Ducks 0. Sounds good. 3 losses in a row wouldn't be unacceptable, but we're playing against the Ducks... Losing is not an option. Yes, because I don't think that they'll win it clearly means I'm not a fan. Chill out. They've been playing like s*** and they have to play one of the best teams in the west a day after a road game, the odds aren't in their favor by any means. Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 I think there's little doubt now Hudler will be traded. I'd hate to see it happen as I like him a lot and think he could be a 60 point guy for many years, but Babs just doesn't like him. Edit: The goalie wars have well and truly begun. After every single freaking loss. Rex, i like rex, but i kinda dont. but i think trading him for a more physically imposing player would be better weather its to sure up the D or for added Offensive Depth. Id really liked our lines today without Rex tbh. Dont think of it as a goalie wars, or goalie bashing think of it as Bulletin Board Material to make our team better
shadow47 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 (edited) Facts for clarification's sake: 1. The first goal was just a lucky pinball goal. Those are unstoppable. 2. Only this second goal against Hasek was garbage. He butterflied on a soft Sundin fan and it slid under his right pad, he fell back in an attempt to smother it. However this goal cannot be attributed to Hasek's flopping. 3. On the OT winner, Hasek regained his feet after sprawling on Antropov, check the replay. He was ready for the point shot and initiated a pad stack movement and the shot was tipped over him. This is clear by looking at the camera behind the net, the side action cam makes it look like never got up but he did in fact. Give the guy a break, huh? Edit: BTW I've said it many times, these regular season games are MEANINGLESS. Edited February 10, 2008 by shadow47

Statts 4 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 Son of a witches *****. I thought this game started 7:00 Et. I come home from work anxious to watch the game, only to find the game is over… and we loose. Not only did I miss the game, but I lost a 20 dollar bet. What a kick in the balls. EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 (edited) Edit: BTW I've said it many times, these regular season games are MEANINGLESS. I hate when people say this! If these games are meaningless then why do they play 82 of them? Why not just skip the season all together and just have playoffs?? I get that you are probably referring to the fact that the wings are so far ahead of everyone and losing a few games is not a big deal, but to say these games are meaningless is just incorrect. I don't think that it is Babs not liking Hudler, I think it is some of us in here liking him way to much. 60 point guy? When? If he can stop getting knocked of the puck he may. I just wonder if he was available for trade, how much real weight does he carry. We might get a third liner at best with a stick and some fresh socks. RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 You guys need to calm down. So were slumping, every team does it. We actually don't slump as bad as other teams. Trust me, the Wings are going to get out of bed tommaro for the Ducks.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 The more bad losses, the better. Anything to erase this "If it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality. Hey, that's a great way to look at it actually. If the Wings win tomorrows game, but completely blow the Western Conference road trip, that could actually be the best thing to happen to this team. I want trades, and lot's of them. There are too many players on the Wings that I just cannot stand, because their so useless, and plus it makes the season more interesting.

God man, the games aren't meaningless for Washington or Boston, but for Detroit they are. They play 82 games to suck the dollars out of blue collar fans wallets, that is it. It really doesn't matter how many games, maybe after a 150 game season, the Caps would make the playoffs. Maybe after a 40 game season, the Islanders would. It's completely trivial, the owners want as many games to make as much $$ as possible, clearly. Detroit is going to make the playoffs, they are going to win the division, probably the conference. They would likely do this in a 20 game season, just as they would in a 200 game season, therefore the games are meaningless. Is all I meant. Bring on the post! Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 Instead of the "you" that goes with the finger, change it to an "off" and I'd wish Lilja would listen! When he aint fighting, he's hurting the Wings, espicially with Kronner out for a while.

shadow47 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 You totally missed my point, but...ok then. ps. I'm not a man. Great, OK, I just meant 'man' as in 'person', as in a conversational address such as 'dude' or 'you', and I didn't miss the point, your point was 'why not go straight to the playoffs' and I said, 'yes, let's do that, so long as the Wings are there' as it is a rite of spring for them to nab first spot at least in conference. When that stops being a regularity people can start worrying about the regular season again and recognizing it as anything more than a period in which to minimize injuries and exertion.
