It's a matter of moments with an injury like this, thank god he didn't hesitate but went straight for the bench. Good to hear that his condition is stable - he'll be in my prayers.

Wow that is just awful. That poor guy, i really hope that everythign is gong to be OK.

I would assume that he is going to be fine, i hope that he is able to continue playing this year and continue on with his career.

Zednik is one of my favourite players because of how he fought to come back after cancer. He is a class act and I really hate to see this happen to someone like him.

That is awful! How unlucky, to think of all the players who get cut in the face by a flying skate poor Zednik gets it in the neck. I think his instinct to skate toward the bench saved precious time and possibly his life. Good to hear that he is stable and in the hospital, many prayers for him and his family.

The look in Zednik's eyes says a lot about what was going through his mind in the moments immediately after that. Pretty scary.

Zednik was very lucky that he was able to stay on his skates and had the presence of mind to get his ass to the bench. He started fading 5 steps or so off the ice, so he didn't have a lot of time.

i agree 100% and they wouldn't burden their play whatsoever! i don't want to see a change after someone dies, cause it seems that's what it's gonna take before players stop being so old school. if i were in the nhl i'd wear a full cage and neckgaurd. can't have too much protection really as much as these guys have no respect for where their sticks go it seems.
