I dont know...Hudler has been in the dog house lately and we all know hes probably Babcock's least favorite player. If Hudler and a pick is enough to get Prospal, I say that deal is as good as done.

Also, luckily for Detroit, I hear that LA is looking to get D prospects in return for their rentals. At this point, I think Detroit's biggest competition for Blake is San Jose, so maybe Detroit could land him with Quincey, a 1st, and a conditional..

Thats true, Holland always does make it sound like its no biggie so you can never really know with him

Huds could very likely be traded, i like the guy but if he is good trade bait then send him out

I just wanted to know what u guys think of Horton

Ive heard his name a couple of times

Is he good, tough?

Random I know, just wanted to know about him

Nathan Horton from the Panthers? I like him alot actually. He's a young gritty player with alot of promise in the future, but Florida has him signed until 2013/2014.

Anson Carter and Janne Niinimaa. I'd trade Cleary and some draft picks for a Hossa, Blake, or Sundin if he doesn't sign by the 25th and Holland thinks he can sign someone on par with Cleary over the summer.

Also Forsberg rejected Anaheim.

EDIT: wow we thought the Joe was havin' some attendance problems this year. Look at the Islander'g game on Versus!

Yes because as we all know, teams just love to unload their upcoming UFA star player for another UFA who isnt nearly as good. Thats how you rebuild folks!

And please, lets just stop talking about Nathan Horton right now. There is absolutely zero chance of him being dealt here, its less than zero actually. Theres a better chance of us getting Hossa, Sundin, or Jokinen than Horton...and i dont even feel we're players for them.

Alright, keep Cleary. Anaheim is a big team though.

He is difinitely going to come with mucho baggage now... not sure he will be able to shake what happened the other night because of his skate blade. :(

ergo... not a good fit

Exactly. He proved that he wasn't a team player after what he did to Zednik.

Im not sure you understood my point. Im not arguing to keep Cleary in my post. Im talking about your suggestion of trading him to Atlanta or Toronto for Hossa or Sundin respectively making no sense. Why would a team, who's obviously trying to land the best young players, prospects, and picks they can get, want a player who will be a UFA in return. Think about it, whats the logical point in getting Cleary. There isnt one.

Sorry if it came of harsh, trades that have no chance of happening is a little pet peave of mine! Horton's one of my favorites, and is a budding power forward. Florida wouldnt deal him here for anyone not named Zetterberg.

I see. I was thinking Toronto or Atlanta would be more willing to sign Cleary for more than the 2.25-2.5 million a year he will probably get here. I was thinking that at the trade for Sundin or Hossa they would sign Cleary for say, 3.5 million. Cleary would have to agree to it though and would probably be pretty pissed. So I see what your saying.

No worries, understandable

There are 3 wing scouts at the kings/blues game for anyone that cares

Exactly. If I'm a GM trading with Detroit, I want your prospects or one of your roster players with some time left on his contract. I don't want your draft picks. You're scouting is the best in the league. If I take draft picks, I have to make use of my own scouting (for TO that's a death sentence). If I take prospects, I've made use of yours.

Also, why the panic about Cleary being a UFA. He's not the single best guy available with his credentials so he's unlikely to get stupid money thrown at him. His history with other teams hasn't been near as good as with Detroit and teams will discount his time with the Wings because, well, its the Wings, how can you not look good on that team. So if Cleary isn't getting stupid money from somewhere and if the Wings really want him, why would he not sign back with the Wings. It's his best possible chance to win a Cup.

This is only hearsay, but I heard a Kings fan say Lombardi and Holland had talked, and while Holland isnt guaranteed to land Blake, he is all but guaranteed to get one of Stuart or Blake. Don't shoot the messenger. But at least its good news thats pretty believable. My guess is Quincey is a fixture in either deal. The Kings want young Dmen/defensive prospects...

This certainly seems logical.

If Chelios and Lilja both re-sign, next year's D will be exactly the same as this year. Unfortunately there is little room for Quincey, especially since Ericsson, if anyone, would most likely crack the Wiings roster next year.

Soooooooo, Quincey + a 3rd for Stuart?

I think a lot of that fear is based on Sharp's contract in Chicago. They are similar players and Sharp's money is more than Kenny is going to want to give Danny.

Of the two I'd rather have Stuart.

Last night against the Blues, Stuart was definitely a factor offensively, even if it didn't end up on the scoresheet. Defensively he looked average. I didn't see any major gaffes. And being on the Kings, that's a positive. Especially because he wouldn't be carrying so many minutes on the Wings.

The question mark for me is if he's physical at all. He's got the size, but I haven't seen enough of him to know if he'd use it at all on the Wings, or if he plays with an edge. I didn't see anything like that from him last night, but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

The Leafs scouting is light years ahead of where it used to be.

i can go for that. couple of big phyiscal d - men in the trade talks.

the only think i would slightly object to is the blake trade - hes 38 - wouldn't that seem like a rental to you?
