egroen 384 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Authentic Red Wings jerseys are ok to machine wash, right? I am embarrassed to say I have not washed this thing once! The jerseys I played in were nowhere near as nice, so I am a bit hesitant.

I have a lot of jerseys.

DaKineMaui 8 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 Who washes their jerseys? I have a fight-strap Team Canada sweater($240 canadian) from along way back. It has official nacho cheese on it from a Lions game at the Silverdome. Never would I attempt to clean this. Wise up. aloha

What about an autographed jersey signed in permanent felt pen? Will the sigs stay if you wash it?

tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) yes, we do all of our jerseys in cold water/gentle cycle and we don't dry them... they dry fine on a hanger. We just use normal laundry detergent.... Come on, if they can take out what the hockey players dish out and still be in one piece they gotta be pretty sturdy, right? I just ordered my new authentic Edge Ian Laperriere jersey about 4 weeks ago, and I can hardly wait for it to show up!!! The jerseys I played in were nowhere near as nice, so I am a bit hesitant. I always prefer to have mine dry cleaned. Two reasons. 1. I don't have to do it myself 2. If it gets screwed up, they get to buy me a new one.
joshy207 156 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 ...and to add - I wash my jerseys by themselves, or a few together wash inside out, & NO fabric softner. Who said this... "You ought to put some ******* Downy in those jerseys, Charlie!"
Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) Since this thread was started... Are authentic NFL jerseys the same? Gentle cycle in cold water and then let dry on hanger? Edited February 14, 2008 by Mudvayneowns91

The Enforcer 13 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 I dumped a guiness draft all over the front of my Team Canada home jersey at Fishbones once. not only did the ******* color run, the stain didn't come out. still pissed about that.
Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 I've got 13 of em, and I get them all dry cleaned at the end of each season. I always wear a t-shirt underneath, so it's not like they're nasty/sweaty. Spills or stains warrant an emergency trip to the cleaner, but other than that, just once a year.
