Sammy may be the butt of all of our jokes, but the truth is, he is not performing to the standards of what the Redwings and their fans expect out of a goal scorer. Him and Hudler look like scared twins out there. They look as if they have no confidence and no drive. Samuelson is absolutely a liability as well as Lilja. I think KH has Sammy and a few others that are not performing on his little list of players he's willing to trade. The truth is the there is no secondary scoring right now. I could live (albeit painfully for a while) with Jiri getting traded, but that's it. Mikael is just not looking like he should, and that's not going to get it done in this town. Unfortunately Lang was looking for a little something extra to top the deal off and negotiations ended. In all fairness though, he gets grilled here alot but lettuce remember the good things he did here....and given our team's current pickle, maybe it wouldnt be so bad having him back around! I cant imagine two better additions that he and big Mac...that would be a whopper of a deadline if you ask me. Nobody would see the Lang trade coming either, Holland would sure throw a slider at all of us! Lang could definitely help "ourB" powerplay unit and more than anything, and help Rally the team out of our current slump. Plus look at the guy's size, he's a Big boy and would add some much needed beef to the roster. His heart still belongs on the Wings i believe, he's old but not done by a longshot and still bleeds red....so i say why the hell not bring him back? Might take him a few weeks to get re-adjusted, but i'd expect by patty's day he'd be really cookin'! Now all we need is a passing reference to the aforementioned trade of Sammy for a used condom and we can talk about Langus burger connecting with some 'special sauce'. kylee 727 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 I'm gonna contribute the classic "bag of pucks" response here. i dont mean to totally wreck the guy, but there have been so many spots in the last handful of games that i just want to scream when he's on the ice and i understand the Wings are slumping right now but Sammy is as consistently inconsistent as they come. that game against calgary i believe it was where he turned the puck over twice on one shift and the team almost got scored on both times, his obnoxious pointless headfakes at the blue line, that never work and/or cause an offside. his shots almost exclusively at the chest of any give goalie, his off target passes.. i just.... anything for him to be traded. he's gotta go. How many times did his shots get blocked thus creating an odd man rush? The least he could do in these instances is let it rip and hopefully take the player out. Never mind.
