awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 "Lucky Pierre" was getting on my ******* nerves today constantly jabbing the Wings for how bad and nervous they are. Is there any reason to make that comment once every 5 ******* minutes? He was worse than those stupid CBC announcers in Western Canada. He sounded like he had Modano's balls in his mouth the whole game. AHAHAHA, i was pretty muh gonna make that exact same comment earier in hte game. Modano was pretty much completely non-existant, and Pierre was orgasming over the looko of his face all game. He's silly

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 Downey sucked hard tonight, I'd like to see Ellis in tomorrow. Yeah, that'll solve all our problems. What could be more exciting than seeing some tool skating in cirlces not throwing his body around.
Nero 20 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 Wings vs. Avalanche tomorrow, with both playing a game today. Red Wings should win because we put in only 5 minutes of effort today. We're rested enough.

Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 I have never been more confused and angry than when I saw Mikael Samuelsson out there at the end of the game. He plays terribly for 59 minutes, and they stick him out there for the last one. I just, man. I have no words for the bewilderment of that decision. And, of course, he makes himself look even more useless with the way he performs. He can't make a pass, he can't keep the puck in at the point. It just infuriates me that he is given a free pass and, really, rewarded for playing like such a jackass. Un-*******-real. Other than that, I thought the Wings played pretty well today. This six-game losing streak, the first since '91, is not fun, though. And, unfortunately, it doesn't really get much easier from here. I'm normally very optimistic about this team, but I do think they are in trouble right now. There is obviously something that hasn't been clicking over these past few weeks. Hopefully getting Rafalski and Kronwall back will ease the pain a bit, and then whoever we decide to pick up at the deadline. Right now, though, this team worries me. I also want to point out my disgust with the NBC broadcast team today. I am normally a huge supporter of NBC and I typically think they do a top-notch job, but their constant bashing of the Wings today was unncessary and annoying. Pierre McGuire, who I had been able to put up with until today, was just brutal. I miss the days of Thorne and Clement. Anyway, the team moves on. This losing streak sucks, but we can end it tomorrow. Agree 100%
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 This is just so frustrating for me, I can't imagine what it's like for the guys. I don't have their patience, I'd have hauled off and punched somebody.
uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 Downey sucked hard tonight, I'd like to see Ellis in tomorrow. So Downey and his 2 minutes of ice time was our downfall? What did you expect him to do tonight?
dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 I'm going off on a limb and putting Howard as the #2 star of the game. I said it. That's all. I was close. #1 and #3 are swappable depending on which team won. Unfortunately it wasn't the Wings (obviously).

auxlepli 17 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 Wow, Wings didn't even get a goal today. That's just sad, though Turco played very well. Howard did as well. It's amazing how far the Wings have fallen post-ASG. Dallas is now just eight points behind Detroit for the President's Cup. Might be better for the post-season if Dallas wins the PC. That is, if the Wings make the post-season.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 So Downey and his 2 minutes of ice time was our downfall? What did you expect him to do tonight? I was kind of thinking he should grab Modano and start pounding away.
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 People keep saying that we played a good game today. That's not true. We had a great first period, which led me to believe that we would play a great game, but the second was just as bad as any other period we'ev played during the slump, and the third, up until the last 2 minutes, wasn't much better. I'd say we only played well for 20 to 25 minutes, and then reverted to our prior ways. Changes have to be made.

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 Oh, and call up Darren McCarty. We could REALLY use that boost. You do realize that he's property of the Griffins and NOT the Red Wings, right? He hasn't signed a contract with Detroit (and likely won't, anyway.)
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 So Downey and his 2 minutes of ice time was our downfall? What did you expect him to do tonight? I didn't call it our downfall, I was commenting that he was unimpressive when he was out there tonight, and I saw him on his one long shift have the puck, play the bodyy, turn the puck over, resulting in a scoring chance. And I think that he has 1 job, and that job is to, with little ice time, bring energy to the game and swing momentum, he did not do that at all. He was invisible when he was on the ice. I think Ellis, who hasn't played in a while, would bring a lot of energy to the game tomorrow, and I was just very unimpressed with Downey when he was out tonight in the defensive zone. wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 I agree, those NBC guys were SO ANNOYING! all game... i actually had to mute the tv it was so bad. Their constant ragging of Lidstrom (of all people) was terrible, and Datsyuk (trying to say he isnt doing his job), and the goaltending (how the hell can they say Dom is a bad thing for the wings? He hasn't had 1 bad game since November). It was a continuos bashing of the Wings by NBC commentators, and it pissed me off... the worst was them saying the wings wouldnt make it past first round in playoffs... Like WTF are they talkin about. Man, I say we should write a compaint to NBC about this... because that was just bised commentating, and it proved one thing... they know NOTHING about a good team, and threfore do NOT deserve to commentate! Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 We just need Kronwall, Rafalski, and Hasek back, plain and simple. Oh, and Cleary wouldn't hurt either. ...and maybe Mats Sundin,Jared Stoll and Adam Foote.

LidsFan 68 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 We did lose, but a least the team put in an effort, to try and win. And we only lost by one goal, so it is nothing to be ashamed about. I like Howard I thought that he did a good job, its too bad that he did not get the win for all of the hard work he put in. So hopefully we will continue to improve and get a win against Colorado. What is with that Pierre guy? why does he hate us so much, what did we ever do to him?
