When theres a douchebag like Ott on the other team, Downey needs to play, espicially since Ott has been running guys all day. No he hasn't played today because when he did he was a defensive liability. Babs has not been afraid to play Downey against fighters in the past when he has played solid games. Samuelson and Filpula have played much more then Downey, and have been much worse defensively. As long as were on the same page. Babs doesnt play him against fighters, he never does. I do agree that those two have been defensive liabilities as well. I'm just pointing out the reason why Downey is not a premier enforcer in the league, that the rest of his game is not complete.
