Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Either we smoke them, they smoke us, or it's a close game. Wings 2 (Dats, Draper) Nucks 1 (who cares)
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 If we win, I will be shocked. Our defence is not horrible, but it's so inexpeirenced.
Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) First off, I'm a Canucks fan. I don't know how this game is going to go tonight. Until this year, Detroit didn't really worry me that much. We seemed to beat you a little more often than you beat us. That changed this year with the incredible start guys you had..... but now Detroit is hurt and slumping, while Vancouver seems to have broken their slump and injured players are starting to return and Luongo's back on track. But for some reason, Detroit still concerns me a great deal in regards to tonights game. Vancouver notes Naslund has a strained groin and is questionable for tonights game. Mattias Ohlund has the flu and is also questionable. Kevin Bieksa returned after 4 months and looked strong against Nashville. Alexandler Edler has been an incredible surprise. With Bieksa's return and Edlers steady play, that gives Vancouver 4 defencemen who can score on a regular basis (Ohlund, Salo, Bieksa, Edler). Vancouver finally appears to have a strong farm system. 22 year-old Mason Raymond and 24 year-old Ryan Shannon (along with Edler) have all been offensive threats of late. On thursday in the Canucks 3-2 win over the Preds, Raymond got a goal and an assist and the winner in the shootout. Luongo appears to have his mind off his pregnant wife (if that's what it was) and is back on his game. Marcus Naslund has been hot of late. Usually that indicates a cooling off period is about to follow, but so far so good. Brendan Morrison is set to return in about 3 weeks following his wrist surgery. 96Homer 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Just some scoring from our top line whose been disappearing lately would be helpful. This slump isn't doing any good for my fantasy team!! Anyone have any word on Kopy after that monster hit by Dion last night grrr?
Guest Jeremy88 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Wings will lose again. I'd love to say they'll win...but come on...the top 4 D-men are out. Detroit's top defensive line is gonna be Lilja and Lebda. Or some Grand Rapids players...which isn't any better. Dats and Z need to start getting points up on the board...they're the team leaders, they need to spark up the team, because we all know nobody else on the team will. Lately, the wings have been extremely lazy. Everyone's counting on somebody else to pick up the slack... My brain says Detroit will lose...but my heart says "GO WINGS!" Superman54 91 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 come on wings! I hope they can pull a win that seems unlikely with all these injuries Wings:3 (Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Downey!!!) Canucks:
dicksmack 33 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 With this depleted line-up on backtobacks, 3-1 Vancouver
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Anyone else noticed Sammy has been playing D on the PP's lately with the injuries? I have a feeling Howard is going to be a busy boy tonight as the Wings might be giving up a lot of odd man rushes (Hope I am wrong).....
superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Yes! Jimmy Howard! Haha and he has all of his GR defensemen with him tonight.

Zion 93 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 This amount of injuries happened to the Buffalo Sabres last year, and they still went on to score 300 goals and win the President's Trophy.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 I totally agree that Dats and Hank have to step it up. A 1-0 loss is not to be laid on the defense. The offense needs to contribute as well. Lilja and Lebda are not the goal scorers that Lids and Raf are. Hank and Dats need to step up, as do all the forwards. We've had a bad case of post-goalie syndrome (if it doesn't hit the post, it hits the goalie). I say tonight they will go out and prove to the world that we may not have a defense, and we may be playing an AHL goalie, but dagnabbit, we still have an NHL offense! Wings take this one. Wings: 2, Franzen (assist: Lilja) and Lebda (assist: Drake, finally). Nucks: 1, Deflect off Lilja's body or equipment so people can forget his assist and offer him up as trade bait. Go Griffins! Go J-Ho! Get Well Soon, Wings!
KATIEBARTHEDOOR24 426 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything. Lets see if I remember how this works. Sammy misses the net by five feet Lilja gets a goal for the opposing team Pavel rocks! That sounds about right. Wings win. But more importantly No more injuries. Izzy24 44 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 I predict Dallas Drake will do something worthwhile tonight... He's gonna get that elusive 300th assist. Anyone else noticed Sammy has been playing D on the PP's lately with the injuries? Yes, I've also noticed he does that when there aren't any injuries. canadian wings fan 305 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 I love the wings and all I hope is that they put out there best effort tonight. And come on lmao at Lilja and Quincey number 1 and
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) He's gonna get that elusive 300th assist. Maybe when the Wings were down a goal late in the 3rd and they were trying to tie it up? Edited February 24, 2008 by Rivalred
larionov_8 12 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 I predict Dallas Drake will do something worthwhile tonight... Ha -- I actually laughed when I read that. I'm not a Drake-hater, but somehow I sensed disdain in your remark... I have faith that Howard will be sharp again. The Wings D may be young tonight, but the big threat from Vancouver are those little Sedin boys. Because I dislike them, I'm assuming that they will accomplish nothing and maybe hurt themselves. Detroit 3: Franzen, Zetterberg....Drake Vancouver 2: Luongo (2)
