#1) Brad Stuart. He'd be a great second unit compliment to Kronwall. Ideal combination of skill and grit. Shouldn't cost too much, seeing as he's about to be a FA. I doubt we'd be interested in re-signing him with all our prospects, but he's still just 27. Former #3 overall pick.

#2) Sergei Federov. Bring him back! He'd be absolutely perfect in Babcock's system. Columbus would be happy just to get rid of his big contract. Federov still plays hard every single night. He'd surely bust his butt here. Isn't what he used to be, but he's still a sniper and he's still an amazing two-way player.

Yeah, considering he plays once every fortnight, which if you don't know, means every two weeks. He's always hurt.

As for Stuart, he'd be a solid acquisition, and would become a great replacement for Lebda who's playing like dogs***.

We need a winger more than we need a center.

think so? I personally think Flip would be even more dangerous at a wing.

i dont know why everyone thinks we need a defencman, we easily have the best defence in the league with lidstrom alone and with rafalski, and in my opinion; lebda is a great defencman, he is very fast and hustles every night, i have no major complaints with anyone on the defence except for lilja, he is slow as hell and gives up too many turnovers, but yeah now that ive said that i think we could go for a solid 4th liner and a second line center

and i know half of the people that read this will disagree with me about almost everything i have said but that is just my opinion

If this is the case, get ready to make an exit in the 2nd round of the playoffs, if we are lucky. This is turning into a joke, you would think ANOTHER spectacular reg. season only to tailspin at the end of the year (and unless they do something major, the playoffs) would lead to some sort of new approach. I guess not.

um...have you seen Anaheim play? youre right we have the best defenseman in the league, but we dont match up to their top 4, not even close. We have the best defenseman, they have the next 2 best.

our defense isnt that deep, especially since we can pretty much count on kronner being out again at some point during these playoffs, and cheli is well...getting old. with age comes injuries. we need to be prepared defensively come playoff time.

It depends on what combinations we're looking at. But yes, in general, I'd say the hole is on the wing. Ideally, Hank and Dats (maybe Flip rather than Hank) would hold down the middle on the first two lines, each flanked by a grinder and a scorer/offensively-minded playmaker. Between Cleary, Holmstrom and maybe Franzen, there's enough grit and muscle. The scoring punch is lacking, though.

The Wings' blue line is undersized, not terribly physical, predominantly o-minded, and lacking a big, nasty, crease-clearing defensive defenseman who can play in the top 4 without being a defensive liability. Rafalski was a tremendous pickup and Kronwall, when healthy, is a great presence. But come the postseason, these weaknesses will be exploited unless adequately addressed. Bank on it.

We disagree with you because you are wrong. Did you not see the Western Conference Finals last year? Do you not see what is happening right now? Do you honestly think we have the size and defensive depth to compete with Anaheim? If you do, know that we will (once again) disagree with you again, and that again you will be WRONG.

Boy I love this time of the year. Everyone panics, get's pissed if Kenny doesnt do anything. Throws hissy fits. Great times. Lets just be calm and breathe, if we dont hear anything tonight we shall hear something tomorrow. As for the babys about Prospal big deal, yea hes an alright scorer given the right players. But hes to small for me I want someone who hits, bangs and can put the puck in the net. Yes I want Hossa thats it. If we dont get him fine, if we do I will pee my pants. Literally:) Lets hope for an early Christmas present tomorrow or later tonight.

No I think, well at least in speaking for myself, that people get pissed that Kenny doesn't do the things that make us a successful playoff team. I mean heck, if the regular season determined the Stanley Cup we would be the golden god of all sports franchises, unfortunately it doesn't work that way. And with so many people becoming content on a AWESOME regular season, and "we'll get them next" year mentality after another playoff exit the status quo we are now living in will remain as is/
