Obviously it does hurt that we didn't make a splash but I don't think the market was favouralbe to us this year. If anything our players might feel more urgency to perform well and show resiliency to go over the tough hill that is Western Conference. In the end, who wants more wins and it is hard to have same hunger when you have it so good. Like he's afraid to make a bad move in the cap era. Could Holland precap > Holland Postcap ? He's got two more seasons of capped hockey before true judgment could be made. I still stand by my opinion that I don't like him regardless and ironically happy that Hossa, Fed and Foote are elsewhere for various reasons. Instead, we pick up Stuart (not an improvement) for only a quarter of the season and *lose* 2nd and 4th round picks. Once everyone gets healthy, this is how the team looks going into the playoffs: Zetterberg-Datyuk-Holmstrom Cleary-Filppula-Samuelsson Franzen-Draper-Hudler Maltby-Kopecky-McCarty/Downey/Drake Lidstrom-Rafalski Stuart-Kronwall Lebda/Lilja-Chelios Osgood Hasek I think we have a good mix of skill, size, and strength. I would have liked to have seen a forward, but there is no guarantee that any of the other GM's out there really wanted to help make the Wings a better team. I'm sure they all asked for the world for a forward (Filp and a 1st if not more) Overall I give Holland a solid "B" He made the team better with out hurting it in the future.
