dallas27 7 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I don't think you could even get someone to do that trade if they were piss ass drunk and on all the drugs known to man.
zata40 3 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 However "Columbus" has requested from "Detroit" young forward Valteri Filppula and a first-round draft pick thank GOD we didnt make that trade!

Reilly 24 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I don't like these articles. Know why he wasn't a Wing? Because Columbis isn't trading within their division.
KDDRWINGS1 9 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I hope he doesn't like being a Cap and we can sign him when he becomes a ufa in the off-season. He looked decent last night on hnic against toronto. This would be a great place for him to retire in two years.
2probert4 8 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I don't like these articles. Know why he wasn't a Wing? Because Columbis isn't trading within their division. I've posted in here many times about how when Ken Holland calls, the price goes up. That's a ridiculous demand for a player like Fedorov.

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 Yeah, just as I and numerous other people with a semblance of logic posted on deadline day. There's no way in hell the Wings were going to get as good of a deal for Feds as anyone in the East. It's just completley silly to believe so. People running their mouth about Holland ought to learn some basics of NHL hockey before spewing their crap.

miller76 463 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/03/bl...xing_fedor.html I would've been royally pissed had Holland made that trade. Flip and a 1st rounder for a 38 year old player? I know Feds just isn't any player especially in the eye of Detroit. But fortunately KH and Babs and the others privy to an opinion in this matter were thinking clearly and decided this wasn't a good deal. In all honesty I am glad we didn't give up much at the deadline. I think the trade deadline we get ourselves in trouble. I prefer to sign the unrestricted free agents. Maybe we can sign Feds, Hossa, or even Sundin in July without giving up draft picks.
cirov19 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 LOL okay. You have to be the biggest crack idiot in the world to make that trade hahaha. Seriously now, thats bulls***. So then it's clearly a good thing we didn't make that trade. And Caps got him for Ted Ruth.. Hahaha, what a joke.

Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I sure as hell didnt want Fedorov so this is of no concern of mine, but how reliable is this? Its kind of hard to completely believe an article that translated like this from Russia. Havent we seen articles from Sweden before that turned out to be bogus? Swede40 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 This was exactly my thought upon reading this thread. That's why i posted this article. I'm sure the demands for the likes of Hossa and Sundin were alot worse.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 VAL AND A FIRST? WHAT IN GOD'S NAME?! ARE THE JACKETS MANAGEMENT ON CRACK? Wow.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 VAL AND A FIRST? WHAT IN GOD'S NAME?! ARE THE JACKETS MANAGEMENT ON CRACK? Wow. When you consider how much the Blue Jackets management stated, numerous times in fact, that they did not want to trade within the Central Division, it really makes perfect sense. They asked for one of the guys that they knew Detroit wouldn't give up, so they didn't have to worry about trading Fedorov within the Division. I don't see why they couldn't be reasonable, since Fedorov sucks anyways, but it is what it is. It doesn't surprise me that the Columbus management raised the price for any divisional opponent involved.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 Columbus was deliberately trying to make Detroit overpay for Fedorov. It would have ended up a win-win for them. Detroit passes on the deal? Columbus doesn't help a division rival get better. Detroit takes it? Columbus screws Detroit out of some good assets in a very imbalanced deal.
SnipeShow 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I wonder what LeftWinger has to say about this. something along the lines of: ...Kenny should have done it. Filppula is a good young talent but he can be replaced. Come free agency we can get Adam Hall, Scrub #2, Scrub#3, etc. etc. something like that anyways, just a general idea.
