datsyukfan2000 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 nice to get a win in the central. hell, nice to win! wish i could have seen it. dats with 7 takeaways!?!?! holy s***. two goal as well, sounds like a beast of a game. yet he didn't get a star? rafalski fought??? They showed the first two stars of the game on NHL.com before cutting away, Dats was 1st Star followed by 2nd Star Franzen. Dats last steal, that he converted for the empty-netter was a beauty. dr_lobster 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 It was cool to see everyone on the bench supporting Downey right at the end there, patting him on the back and such. You can tell they really appreciate his presence.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Sounds like it was a decent game. Always nice to beat the divisional teams. Anyone know if FSN is playing a replay later on tonight? Sometimes they'll replay it at like 2:00 A.M. or something. I'd like to record it, since I didn't get the chance to earlier. 'Twas a busy day for me, more than I can stand! AUWingsFan 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 highlights for me.....Downey on the PP and being chased by three Blues....and Rafalski's body slam! So my question is who sits when Cleary comes back and when McCarty gets up here (if he's deemed in good enough shape)?? I was thinking about it tonight and really although he didn't get a goal Downey got an assist and did a great job with Kopecky and Hudler cycling the puck. I've been a big fan of his all year and I'm interested to see what he might be able to contribute in the playoffs if given some quality time. Overall though great game by the Wings! I just wish the refs would stop letting people take liberties with our guys on the ice....oh well we have a guy to step up (Downey) but really tonight I would've loved to see him get the Gordie Howe hat trick by getting a quick goal at the end, then getting into a fight after that..... I found highlights on yahoo.com after trying to get nhl.com highlights to play -- link buffers, but won't play. Gee, why am I not surprised that the video on nhl.com site doesn't work? It was worth scrounging for the clip on yahoo, just to see Datsyuk's second goal.

Salviaman 104 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 (edited) There is a reason why Pavel Datsyuk leads the league in takeaways, and we all just saw why on his 2nd goal. I bet Jackman felt like a jackass after that robbery Edited March 6, 2008 by Salviaman
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Haha here is what Downey had to say about a couple things: On what Wywotika "he's soft as butter, that kid." On the three Blues chasing him and wanting to start something: "I felt like a kid in the schoolyard getting bullied."
RedStormRising 7 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Anyone else think Kopecky is kind of a *****? He always seems to be bending over in pain or something and just acts soft in general. Dude, you would STILL be laying on the ice at this moment if you got hit like that... You my friend, are an idiot.
Salviaman 104 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Dude, you would STILL be laying on the ice at this moment if you got hit like that... You my friend, are an idiot. Well said! I would like to see anyone get up right after getting their head smashed into the ice. I am pretty sure I saw Kopecky's head hit the ice hard, hard enough to bounce. That would make anyone a little disoriented/concussed, especially if you aren't expecting a cheap shot since the puck is 30 yards away from you. I am just glad Kopecky is OK. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Yeah I'm not saying that I'd do any better, but I'm not a mother ******* nhl player. And I'm not saying he just get up and walk it off and continue playing like nothing happened. Yeah, it was a hard ******* hit. But perhaps if you read some of the s*** I said, this isn't the only time I noticed him being soft. He's taken high sticks to the face like he just broke both legs. Look at that video I posted and see how fast he shut he mouth and ran off. I think you should reconsider the person you think is an idiot between of us. But I guess this is what I get from the cheap off brand toilet paper thin sensitivity on this website.

And it makes me chuckle, thinking of how the dips***s in St. Louis get off calling us classless when their team resorts to faggotry everytime they are losing. Clue train for the cprice gibbering monkey crew...your teams undisciplined bulls*** is a big reason why you continue to be irrelevant. For f***s sake, no one would even be talking about the ducks if you momos could make the playoffs...

Good game A rare Wings game I missed thanks to the NHL Network and Time Warner. I'm pissed that NHLN can pull games from the Center Ice package I paid for before the season began with the understanding that I'll get every game. Absolute BS. I'm pissed that NHLN can pull games from the Center Ice package I paid for before the season began with the understanding that I'll get every game. Absolute BS. Would you like to borrow my Bettman voodoo doll, Mac? I am 100% on board with what you just said here. I'll see you on the 28th when we can get pissed all over again... NHLN is stealing that one, too. I wonder if the wonderful NHLN plans to cherry-pick playoff games, too? If so, I might just lose my mind. What if they steal the finals and there's no other outlet? Life's not fair, and then you die, I guess. Downey: we just need to keep him forever. I love this guy!! Smart, funny, not afraid of anybody... he fits the mold in Detroit. What did we ever do without him?

kylee 727 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 collectively, this board seems to be falling in love with Downey. i like him in the role he's in, just wish he had SOME offense to him, although didn't he get an assist yesterday? haha the end of that game where the three Blue's Goons were like, basically trying to corner him was just pure hilarity. multiple cheapshots, what, did they all want to fight him at once? props to Downey though, he said he'll only fight when someone runs a player or the like. im gaining respect for him simply because he's staying in his role and seems to really appreciate being on the Wings and in the nhl. i have no problem cheering to that.
